Miasis.

Insect (Mainly fly) larvae infecting the human body.  I'm not exactly afraid of it, it's not like I avoid bugs in case they lay eggs in me, but just the thought creates this overwhelming revulsion in me, beyond what any other thought can do.  My skin crawls, my hair stands on end, the back of my throat seems to contract or something, I don't know.  Worse, if I see an image of it, think about it, or POST ABOUT IT ON A FORUM FFFFUUUU, it's there for days.  It just pops up and it's debilitating.  I hate it.

I fear that I will one day lose my memories, to forget what I once was is more horrifying than any death.

And heights. I freak out anytime I'm more than 10 feat above the ground without something to hold on to.
An infinity of nothing after death. Seriously, every time I start to think about it my mind blanches.

Oh god this! Amnesia and non-existence, I have sat and thought hard about those two. When I did, my heart raced and I broke out in a cold sweat. And heights, I always hate being high up. Such a long way down.... What if I fell?

I've been nonexistant for over 13 billion years now, what's another few billion?

Losing memories is frightening. That and losing knowledge. It would be like taking a jar of whiteout and pouring it over an old, extremely intricate painting; one which has no copies made and of which no photographs were ever taken. There is definately a certain horror about that.

Also, space. Or more specifically, being exposed to the vaccuum of space. You will have a full, horrible 30 seconds as you suffocate, freeze, and boil before finally blacking out, suffering ever increasing brain damage, and finally dieing.

I think I figured out why I lack major fears. Simple solution, think of the Apocalypse as an inevitability, think of all the worst things to ever happen in the end of the world, endure a few moments of a living hell (physically, spiritually, mentally) to get a good enough sample (have one hell of a nightmare, most harmless method), and get over as many fears as possible in one go.

Unfortunately, this method may break some minds if one is not used to  pain already. If you can come out with a smile and m/any fears  diminished, congrats. It worked.

In a way, it's using masochism to evolve a mindset to be immune to most fears; mostly irrational fears. Other rational fears are just that, rational. Fear of harm to family and such is especially understandable. If anything, numbing pain helps to keep a level head if something  problematic occurs, and there is panic abound.

Think of it as doing a keg-stand with high octane nightmare fuel, and then setting it off before you sleep. If you can wake up still sane, there you go. The ultimate multi-task knockout of many fears.

Or, in other words, imagine you are a dwarf in one of your forts. You know, that one with the "doesn't care about anything anymore" tag?

That works as well.

You make it sound like you're assuming that the fears are applicable to the Apocalypse. It's not like you're necessarily going to die any second after your fears are realised. Memory loss you may have to live with for the rest of your life. You may never recover those memories. You'll have to live with those maggots under your skin, those cockroaches in your ears, whatever, until it's dealt with or death. And death may not come easy.

As you say, coping with irrational fears this way is fine. Immunising yourself to rational fears really isn't a good idea, but you knew that already.

If you'd seen what I've seen, you wouldn't try to stop me.

I need to use that line in SS13.

Crossing the line between comfortable minimalism and debilitating poverty.

it's a lot less scary when you have the means NOT to be minimalist if you choose to.

Anyway, for me, it's pooping, ever since reading http://www.cracked.com/article_18415_6-things-your-body-does-every-day-that-can-destroy-you_p1.html

I'm scared of heights.

And that is pretty much it.
Oh right, my neighbors Rottweiler/German Shepard/Doberman thing. It chased me when I was getting my family's mail.

Leeches. Just...leeches. They are the only thing I'm aware of that will make me scream like a little girl.

I'm scared of heights, certain bugs, and, well, I guess I'm not scared of blood, but the thought of blood or guts makes me get really really queasy. Like, even hearing it talked about. Or typing it right now. Aghghgh

I used to be like that, but one day when I had to dissect a frog for biology it just vanished, and I rent that dead frog asunder.

Some of the fatalities in AVP still make me wince though.  Subzero Spine Rip someone from the bottom up?  Gross.

I hate parasites with a passion. Something about their uncaring exploitation of others offends me.

I have a tapeworm.

I don't mind it that much.
It's like some accessory sitting in my stomach.

For one- parasites. I think I'd lose it if I found out I had a tapeworm or some other undesirable nasty living in my guts.

Well, you have lots of nasties living in your guts which make their living off eating your food...all animals larger than a few cells do...
