You know, I rather dislike the concept of pay-per-play games. By virtue of paying, I'd feel obligated to play that game instead of other games, and that makes too much like a job (only a job in which I pay instead of getting paid). I like alternating between wildly different games at my whims.

I agree entirely. However.

Ocarina?...Of Time?....

Alas, twas the most awesome game. I had it on the GBColour but then I lost the cartridge and I died inside

Ocarina of Time was the First 3D zelda game. Came out on N64.

So if you were born in '91 and haven't played any Zelda games what does that make you?
a disgrace to your generation
... Sorry...

I haven't played it.  Zelda is overrated.
So was Assasin's creed I, Crysis, and Mass Effect. Just because a game is overhyped, doesn't mean it isn't completely and utterly mindblowingly awesome. The mere fact that the game is still worth over a hundred bucks now-a-days should be a good indicator. Go and get an education (Zelda 101:) and then come back. I didn't start laying out on Twilight until I'd read the book for myself... And Twilight is SHIT.

Seriously. It sucks.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

ButANYWAY. I still think that if you were born in the early nineties or late eighties, then you are a disgrace to your generation if you haven't played Zelda: The Ocarina of Time.
... I'm jus' saying.

This game blew my mind. It was the first game (and one of the only games) I was sad to complete, just because that meant it was over.

That said, I was young and impressionable. It probably wouldn't stand the test of time if I played it again today.

Nostalgia generally solves that problem. But I understand what you mean.
The lack of proper facial expressions, the triangular heads. I mean, it's still N64 graphics, until they re-make it for the Wii and charge fifty dollars per play.

Well, that and the fact that when it came out there were few if any games as broad or epic. Now there are dozens, if not hundreds, which exceed it. It probably wouldn't hold up so well.

But if they remade it, I would buy it in a second. Especially since I foolishly sold my N64 years ago.

You can buy TLOZ: Collector's Edition Gamecube disc and play that on the Wii (hooray backwards compatibility). It contains the original Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. I don't know where you could find it, but two of my friends have it and play the classics this way.

Wrong! I still play through it every once in a while, because it remains better than almost any games released now.

Anything made by Nippon Ichi is worth buying. Some of the greatest turn-based strategy games ever made(including the aforementioned disgaea),

Emulators; Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask for N64 are both common.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

Anyone here played EVE online? It's a bit deeper than WoW. And has 50k people on 1 server. ^ ^

How well has Total Annihilation stood the tests of time? I noticed that it's now on Impulse for $10. Is it worth it?

I started playing it again recently, it is still fun but very frustrating at times when you units move in an unruly mob and can be hard to control.

Planescape: Torment, if you've never played it. It's only the best game of all time :) Similar to the Baldur's Gate series but more focused on story and characters.

If ur into classic RPG's, there's Gothic, 1-3.

Steam offers a few indie packs , pretty cheap.

Though i'm looking forward infinity, the quest for earth. It's not out yet, but the things they got planned...amazing.

Search for it.

What?! You can tame Cthulhu, give him a monocle, then ride him around while you shoot robot zombies with a bazooka! The title screen is more fun than most games!
