Sorry 'bout that, fixed.

Anyway, shop upgrades vary.
It doesn't really cost anything to start a garden to cultivate specific herbs other than time, but a fancy sign for your shop costs an amount of money based on how fancy the sign is and uses up only one turn for your assistant to go and purchase it.

Also, there are no real-life herbs in this. You may find something that's addictive, but it won't be tobacco or something.

Well the mechanics are in place to start a drug cartel, I say we go ahead and do it.

Have the assistant work on a garden for five turns, to grow blue root (it's a good potion base)

Research the herb book to look for addictive substances, and look for the most powerful.

I honestly think the 2 leaves/1 Blue Root combo should be sold as more of a genetic health potion, since the actual cure for ulcers is antacid. Unless that Blue Root is naturally rich in sodium bicarbonate, in which case nevermind.

As for action, go and buy a nifty sign to hang outside

It's dead from the poison.

I miss the reference...
It is a reference, right?

I think it's a Princess Bride reference.

The mushroom does nothing to the rat, therefore its effects must be beneficial or something.

Bah! Your science has no place here!

You check the tome for an addictive substance. You find Devil Berries, a powerfully addictive local anesthetic.
You gather herbs the rest of the day looking specifically for Devil Berries and Colour Leaves. You gather four of each and 1 bundle of sweet leaves.

Your assistant goes into town and sells the two antacid potions for 50gp and buys a sign with the money. He returns and works on your garden planting blue root. He then gathers 3 bundles of herbs. Those being 2 Long Weed and 1 Crying Tree Bark.

Grow some Devil berries in the garden, as color leaves are easy to find. Expand the garden to be able to plant 2 bundles of the devil berries. Use the other two in potions that are one-part devil berries, two-part color leaves. Make two of these.

Ok me thinks we are direct sell only now, we got 10 GP for a custom made potion that the guy needed, but when we sell it to just whoever we get 50GP.

So make a Antacid and sell the thing. Look for more herbs specifically Sweet Leaf.

Also mail some death berries to a island.

You don't need to plant them in order to grow them.
As I said, science has no place here.
And gardening just gives you herbs at the beginning of every third turn.

That fifty was 25 each.
Prices will vary.
Customers will pay what's available, potions will rarely change price in town other than going down.

Make 4 Devil Berry/Colour Leaf concoctions. Have your assistant market them as Titan - the potion that cures all ills and leaves you feeling like a god!
