So Ledi's been training the cats into an army of disposable warbeasts?  Why did no-one think of this sooner?!
Hellcannon seemed to be constantly on the verge of death and Levergedon before my turn helped, but ultimately what killed it was Ledi's cat army.

I kinda like it. What's the engraving on the hammer?

I'm surprised this thread hasn't recieved any replies after 80+ views.

A dwarf champion witnessing the hammerer beat his friend to death, then throwing a tantrum and beating the hammerer nearly to death for it. This was a real-time event in one of our community forts.

Well it is a rather tough act to follow so to speak.

Well, if you feel like a challenge, a giant skeletal eagle chasing a peasant (still don't know how the damn thing got inside the fort) through my gem stockpiles might make an interesting picture.
The eagle, swooping towards him with wings spread wide...
The peasant wide-eyed with fear, fleeing for his life after encountering a giant eagle skeleton out of nowhere on his way to the dining room, his dirty rags contrasting sharply with the piles of thousands of beautiful colored gems in the background...
Each gem polished to a high shine, and reflecting the whole scene in miniature... Ok now I'm just being mean  :D.

Or for that matter... a skeletal eagle flying at all. On skeletal wings.

I think the fan art thread in DF General Discussion would be a better place for this. A good picture, though.

One time, on a map with dry grasslands and a magma pipe, a fire imp set fire to the grass fields, causing a wave of burning destruction to sweep across the plains.

There were trees out there that my woodcutter was ordered to cut. He did not avoid the fire.

Would you kindly draw a picture of a dwarf, axe in hand and with three war dogs, charging blindly into a wall of fire on the savanna?

(Burning tree that he's trying to reach to cut down is optional.)

My female grand champion Wrestler defeating 7 goblins and hardly taking a scratch, for one.
I also have an engraving of one of my dwarves embracing two *hydras*

If you can, I would like a picture of a ton of kittens killing an orc lasher by scratching him to death. It's from my newest fort. It was in a (now engraved) room that was sealed off and many cats bled to death from many parts getting whipped off....so lots of blood.

Something fun that recently happened to me, while my fort only had the starting seven. A posse of fire imps was standing outside of my fort intimidating my dwarves like a gang of troubled teens. Then, the lead imp, possibly to seem cool to the rest of his clique, started throwing fireballs at everyone of my dwarves. He managed to take down 3 dwarves, a mule, a cat, and a war dog. I thought all was lost, until he bumped into a chained war dog, who promptly tore off every single one of his limbs, and much of the right side of his body. At this time, his posse was nowhere to be found. The dog was unscathed while the imp collapsed into a humiliating mass of blood and tears. I could have left him suffer there until the end of time, but I didn't want him interrupting every single task, so I drafted a miner, and had him put his pick through his head while he begged hopelessly for forgiveness in his demon tongue.

If someone wants to draw this, I'd like to see the miner finishing off the tearful imp (he was also over exerted, but I don't think that's drawable), with the dog nearby with blood on his lips, or chewing a limb, looking very satisfied with himself.

If you're referring to me, nope, I'm an 6th Generation English Australian. ^^

Thanks for all the kind words, and there's some great moments here that I'll jump to working on as soon as I have a spare moment!

Re: The engraving on the hammer... It's a masterful rendition of a squiggle and four lines, make of that what you will. XD

He meant the hydra embracing thing.

Because it's so amusing to hear stories of the last recruit, pressganged into defending the fortress, making the critical shot that saves all the battle-hardened veterans... then going crazy because the cats have filled the dining room with miasma.

My first thought when I saw the engraving on the hammer was: "Dwarves engrave in ASCII?"
