Pathos, they're red.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Not necessarily.

You guys don't really -RESPECT- the Kobold. Like the elves, he has a carefree attitude. Unlike the elves, he is not filled with self-loathing enough that he has to justify his actions by eating people.
So sigged.

Trying to farm outdoors.
Thinking that 'Other' in the stocks menu means edible foods.
Sparring with real weapons without armor.
Having marksdwarves without quivers.

Never had trouble with outdoor farming myself.
My mistake?  Going through adventure mode, scanning a Dwarvern settlement, and assuming that's what fortresses were supposed to look like.

- thinking that "Fuck The World"-like projects are far too overpowered for your needs.
("!!Two F*ing [D]ragons in one month after 15 years of peace!!" caused a sudden rise in the urge of world-flooding the hell out of my "embark!"-place)
- thinking that you know every twist of the game :D

5. that the goddamn elves are nice. ugh... i hate it when i see someone new trading with the elves. what, you can't grow more than enough pigtail to make a million dwarfbucks worth of cloth?

I don't mind them too much. Yeah they can take their stupid tree quotas and shove them in their pointy ears.  As long as I don't stockpile huge volumes of wood they don't complain.  They bring tons of wood, especially if I remember to ask for Feather tree wood since it's lighter. They also bring wooden practice weapons and exotic animals.

So yes the elves can be a powerful force for annoyance in DF but only if you don't manage them properly. Which is pretty much like everything else in DF.

Only real problem I had with them was terrifying areas would get the liasons slaughtered. :(

My latest mistake was thinking I could fix a bad fort location by re-working it. Sent my FPS plummeting. :( I think I will reload one of the earliest autosaves and start that one over, since I love the location.

Seeing carp and thinking that they would be great in the fish pond I was planning to build in the center of my fortress.

"Hey, they're just carp, how bad can they- MY GOD THE BLOOD"

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.

Also I have never seen the word DISembark used anywhere on this forum, and have seen the word embark used incorrectly many times.

EDIT: Ran a search, there are 3 other instances of this word being used before now.

C'mon, it's just a carp, what harm could it possibly do to me?
