Not sure if I should report this, I found two earlier threads but those didn't seem to ever get resolved.

Anyway, I went hunting in The Forest of Hell, evil forest blah blah. Fought a Skeletal Cougar and punted it into a pond. It died, leaving a Skeletal Cougar Corpse. I don't use mods, but I can't promise there aren't any, seeing as the install is like a year old.

Totally uneducated theory: Judging by this and the earlier report where the same thing happened to a Skeletal Eagle, I'd guess something is up with skeletals dying in mid-air (since I killed the cougar on ground level and it then fell into a pond).
