The city of New Haven expands to level 4.

Yith looked at the people that were in front of him, or the one actually. The others stayed back one had come forward with his two.. tall things. He himself looked like he was important based on the amount of clothing and trinkets he wore. It seemed that the more trinkets you wore in there culture the higher you are in society. The two things that were beside him looked odd and didn't seem alive, but they moved on their own. They worried Yith mostly because of their large size, it looked like one of them alone could haul him up and toss him with one arm with no problem.

They didn't seem to keen to talk to Yith much, so instead he asked them to take them to their village. After a few moments of debating as to what just a village what they decided to take Yith and his friends to their city... although they didn't look to sure of themselves as they led Yith to the west.

The temple was finished. It didn't look like any of the other species places of worship, nor like any temple ever built in the games and worlds Atril knew. Of course it looked a bit like the temples in other Mitharim settlements, but still totally different. It was built without planning, without knowing when the work would be finished, who would work on it or what materials would be used. It kinda grew. The building of the temple was a process that was the same in every city, yet the results were completely different. It started with the statue. And then a few workshops around it. And a few more. And more. Untill the first crafters each had their workshop and their were only a few passages left to the statue. Then, a crafter that didn't yet have his workshop near the statue would build a ladder, or stairs, or even a rope, and build on top of another workshop. And then another one would do the same. And another. In the end, the temple was a huge mosaic of workshops - some as small as a chair and a table with some place for resources, some large enough to have space for a whole family of carpenters, including tool racks, working benches, cranes, and a whole pile of wood.

Around the second tier of workshops, the main entrance was usually built - a huge gaping hole in the wall of open rooms, with a ramp on both sides, and various cranes and pulleys wherever there was place. And once there was enough stone, the Mitharim would very carefully replace walls, one by one, untill there was a temple like in the big city of Leria, having seven stone tiers and two wooden ones on top of those, with a giant statue in the middle, holding his hammer above the top of the tower - where it was now forbidden to build, as the lowest supports could barely hold the weight.

But this one was only three tiers high yet, and completely built of wood - except for some of the furnaces on the lowest floor. Those first tiers were built quickly, but now the temple would only grow slowly further - every crafter currently in the city now had a place, and only if new crafters would be born, new workshops would be built. Still, the temple was swarming like an anthill, as Atril liked it - little, busy, happy people walking and running around, and doing their jobs. And then, before at least a hundred eyes, the statue turned and pointed his hammer to the north.

Yith gaped at the city as it came closer. He looked most at the towers that rose far from the ground, higher than some trees that he had climbed. He made a note to climb to the top of one of them as he continued walking behind the leader of the small group that had come across his small group.

He continued to look and to ponder as the group came upon an opening in the large wall surrounding the city, pointing crossbows down at the group and some yelling back and forth. The noble that led Yith yelled something to a very decorated many whose coverings gleamed and shined in the sun, before they were let into the city... although the man didn't look to happy.

Yith caught up with the noble, intending to ask what their was to see in the city and if he could meet the leader of such a wondrous place.


Yith and his group explore the city followed by the escorts, and he learns about the people of the city and their culture and technology (mostly a medieval society with a bit of magical technology for the richer class of people). Wherever they go, though, people eye them very suspiciously, mothers call their children back into their home, people are hesitant to answer questions, etc...

Yith and his group are also shown the (still incomplete) barracks and training grounds. Most of the soldiers are common infantry men, using normal medieval weapons such as swords and spears, though their higher officers are men resembling Dencath. Through questioning, Yith learns that these men are the Artificers, the higher class in this society, and the ones that use magical technology. Also, Yith notices one building in which there are nothing but rows upon rows of tall metallic statues, not unlike the ones that were accompanying Dencath, though these ones seem even less lifelike than the others and dont move at all. Yith is told that these things are 'golems' and are one of the main combat troops of the Expletus Guilds of Artificers.

Finally, Yith and his group are taken to the inner city, where nobles and Artificers live. The standard of life seems higher around here . They are led to the central large tower, and one of the higher floors of this tower, they are brought into a room with a large table with 12 people sitting at it. They introduce themselves as the Elder Council, and they ask Yith questions about the Ruleen. Yith answers them with pleasure and after asking after the Artificers leaders and how things run, they give him a quick summary of how the Expletus Guilds got to this world after escaping from their previous doomed world not too long ago. They sidestep his inquiries about allying with the Ruleen. All in all, they try to be warm and comforting, but it is easy to feel a heavy amount of suspicion and wariness floating in the air during the whole meeting.

After Yith was done with the nobles, they gave him leave to explore the city as he wished. He did just that, the escorts still in toe, while he thought about the nobles and their odd ways.

Rizaar looked down at the board with a frown, and the now ruined piece of his that was in the city. Then looked up at Rand who seemed quite pleased with himself for destroying something so recklessly. It wasn't his game to run, but still he didn't need to destroy his explorers as well.

He looked across the rest of the board as others moved their pieces and plotted. Yith had came to the city of the artificers as planned which was pleasing. He then looked down at the ever expanding city of his and at Rone's piece in-particular... he hadn't moved that one much, perhaps it was time.

Rone awoke from a strange dream, fire had rained from the sky. Strange beings he didn't recognize burned as well as Giwab and Liwab. He panted with the dream still with him, still seared deeply into his mind. He also had the strange feeling that he needed to do something, had to get something done... before he fell back asleep to dream again.

Echidna grumbled to herself in dissatisfaction. Finaly some intelligent life on this planet, and all she got for her efforts of getting there was a "well thank you for your gifts", and a lot of stares. On top of that she even has to escort a diplomat with her to Naxos. And of course should he not return or report that the rowers were not treated well, all hell would break lose, especialy with people as full of fear as those....


But...she still had a favour to ask from above. She did as the oracle instructed her, and aquired a trinket to be sacrificed to Ophinon, filled with the magic of the artificers. Surely, for such a nice sacrifice, asking for a little help would not be too much, now would it....

Eureka had worded her report carefully, but did not leave out a single detail. Sun had already set, and the sisterhood was visibly growing tired of reports on how the Ruleen prepared their food.

"Come to the point Eureka, please. We did not send you to deliver a list of the top-10 bestsellers in their library."

Eureka angrily crossed her arms.

"As I clearly mentioned, they have no library, or writing for that matters."

"Well, I am well aware of what Ophinon prophetized, but...I think it can safely be said that a military conquest is not immediatly necessary. Rather, I think we can win them for us in a different way. These are barbarians living in the woods, bar any technology and culture. I say, bring it to them. Teach them how to read and write, how to forge and how to farm, and they shall be grateful to us. Bring to them art and literature, and teach them how to appreciate it, and they will become close to us, so we no longer have to slay them. instead, we integrate them."

Nuri was pleased. Leading a caravan of settlers trough unknown territory was much more exciting than scouting, and she had some company now. Still, she wished there was something more than endless plains or woods. She had heard tales about other creatures, as smart as them, who lived on thousands of different worlds... Those were stories for kids of course, holding no truth whatsoever, but still, wouldn't it be fantastic if they were to met such a creature of fantasy?

"So, has everyone suddenly decided to hibernate, or are we still playing? Oh, never mind" said Atril, when one of the others played just as he was talking.
When none of the other gods reacted, Atril sighed, and looked at the playing field. In the last few turns, the hut had slowly expanded, and now showed a chimny, an axe and pick in front, and a small statue standing next to it. The next step would be to build a second little house, more to the north - might get things a bit interesting. So atril touched the little hut, the door opened, and a figurine drawing a cart came out, moving two tiles to the north.

Dencath was starting to get fed up with the disturbances. He'd had hoped for some peace after the wolf creatures had been suitably escorted around the city. But no, disturbances at the gates. As he reached these gates, he could see the soldier on top of the wall pointing their weapons at something outside the walls. Ordering the guards to open the gate, Dencath stepped outside.

Dencath noticed the object of attention of all the guards: A strange snake-like creature, talking to the head officer: "I come from those that call themself the Gorgons of Naxos. We come from an island not far east of here."

The officer replied, "Oh really? Well I dont care what you things call yourselves, comming over hear in a chariot pulled by... THOSE things", pointing at minotaur-like creatures strapped to a nearby chariot, "Well, you better carry yourself and get-"

Dencath sighs loudly, patting the officer on the shoulder. "What's this now? MORE strange beasts? Well, let them in, good man. I dont see what harm it can do now."

"But... But... Sir Dencath..."

"I'll make sure to escort them, do not worry."

The snake creature bowed before Dencath, "Finaly someone who seems to be not paralysed by fear."

The officer grumbled again, then ordered the guards to lower their weapons.

Turning to the creature, Dencath continued, "I have no reason to fear you, creature. You couldnt do anything against us even if you wanted, this place is far too well defended for that. Now, you said you were a diplomat, yes? Well then, you probably want to see the Council or something, yes?"

"That would be very kind of you."

As they entered the city, an escort of 10 guards and 2 iron golems joined them. The creature seemed to take an interest in the golems.

"Are those two constructs?" it asked.

"Constructs, yes. Golems, to be precise. I'm surprised something such as yourself would know even the word. Well anyways, I might as well ask for your name, calling you 'creature' all the time is tiring... You DO have a name, right?"

"What a rough piece of work. The edges are not fitting smoothly. And the entire creature seems plump and ...not very artistically pleasing.. whoever made that, he should reconsider what he is doing.."

"It is rough simply because there is no need for it to look good. It is a tool of war. If you wish to see something artistic, there are plenty of more luxurious pieces working for the higher class. Now, your name?r"

"I am Echidna, highest chimero-mason of Naxos. And I would be very pleased to actually see something forged with some expertise."

As they proceeded towards the central tower and entered the inner city, the creature continued, "Finally a nice city. From what I heard from the messengers, these wolf-people on the other side of the ocean were still living in the woods, naked. Good to see that at least some culture is in this world at all"

"Ah, so you've met the wolf-people too. I think some of them are still around the city somewhere, looking around."

"No wonder your guards treated me like a monster. You are not exactly used to civilized guests, I assume."

"We have yet to meet actually civilized people, yes. Though from the way you dont gawk at everything like the wolf-people, I'm guessing you at the very least have cities to live in. Comforting to know."

"I can assure you, Gorgon cities are of similar size to this city and architecturally pleasing."


Eventually, they arrived at the tower. Going up a few levels, the group stopped at a large wooden door, decoratively carved, with gems set in some of the larger engravings. Dencath knocked on the door, and before waiting for an answer, pushed it open, gesturing politely for the creature to go in first. After it entered, into the room with the 12 Elders waiting at their large meeting table, Dencath introduced the creature, before finally excusing himself and leaving. Finally, he thought. Now maybe I could get some rest...


One can only imagine his discontentment upon hearing, a few hours later, that he would be the one leading a diplomatic team that would return with this creature to its city across the sea...

After the Gorgon had left the room, the Council erupted in arguments yet again. Two new races in the span of a couple of months? This new world seemed much less empty than at first glance... and thus, much more dangers could be present than expected...

Readach Moirund was certain of what had to be done. This middle-aged strongly-built and impulsive man seemed quite out of place amongst the old and respected Elders, though that did not in any way decrease the strength of his presence. As the Guildmaster of the Guild of the Nine Blades, he was more or less the defacto military organizer of the whole Expletus Guilds, if not because the other Elders considered him as such but because the other Elders and their respective guilds did not care much about military recruitment, training, and deployment as he did. He had already decided his course of action: The city of Neovicis needed a strong military to ensure its safety against any possible danger from these newly discovered races and any other yet-to-discover ones.

As such, city-wide recruitment started, and a small army was quickly formed. Consisting mostly of foot-soldiers equipped with swords, spears, and some enchanted crossbows, it also had a few squads of iron golems, as well as a few artificers to coordinate the whole army and to provide some artillery backup using newly-built arcane cannons. The army was quite inferior to what had been fielded in the old world, but it was all that could be built with the still few resources and workshops, and it would suffice to protect the city itself.

Yith enjoyed the Artificer's city, marveling at this or that. Especially at the golems he saw every once in awhile around the nobles or the rich of the city. However fascinating the city was however he know there was more to see than just this city. So he and his scouts turned south from the city to explore in that direction to see if such wonderful sights were also abound.

The river-bed got slowly more narrow and the Mountains were towering over them. The blue glow of the Border dominated the sky. Obtaining Stone wasnt a problem here.

"Argin! Argin! We need to stop we dont have enough space under the keel!" shouted Reya from the bow of the Knarr.

"Alright lets stop here. This place as good as any other." He smiled to his wife. Then he shouted: "Throw the Anchor!" to his crew. "Man the boats and find a damn anchor-point"
Days later the first small houses and cottages where build on the cliffs left and right of the river. A Number Buoys were build along he shoreline to anchor the vessels of the small fleet. Fisherman were fishing or transporting persons shore to shore.

"I think this ship isnt large enough anymore Karren." said Argin "Its almost filled with stone and other stuff."

"So what are your plans Argin?" asked Karren.

"Well you know i thought on building a Monastery right into the cliff."

"So wheres the Problem my friend? Do it!"

"You see i am a crafter and geologist..."

"Not to mention our best Metallurgist" interrupted Karren.

"Yes that too but i am not a architect. Nor i am a City-planer."

"Sure but you and i know that the birth-rates will go up again soon enough and without a good plan we will get serious problems. I cant teach Math, Mechanics and everything else on a windy ship deck. Not to mention that Romin has discovered these Suin things."

"We met some of theyr scouts. We didnt discover anything yet. The repairs go fairly well by the way we can embark on our scouting soon enough." Said the 3rd Member of the discussion.

"Good to know." replied Argin. "Nonetheless this beings might be a treat to us. Not only them are a possible treat, we dont know anything about the other species so we need to prepare ourselves. The City has the tower and the walls. Even Romin has siege-weapons on his boat but we dont have any means of defence and i dont have a clue how to organize them."

"I may have siege-weapons but i dont hope to use them. Anyway i think too that we need some better defenses."

"Ok ok i will organize something. Romin, Argin go on with your missions. I will organize a conclave-project for you Argin. Romin move on North to the suin city. After that follow the river again."
