Life does, unfortunately, not work on dead people. And I don't think he'd have much to live for, now that his limbs are torn from his body and all his blood has drained.

You open the door, taking care to step over the corpse and the surrounding pool of blood. You come out to a long corridor. You see light at the far end. The floor is damp and the air smells quite musty. You see a set of shackles lying about, now rusty and forgotten.


What do you do?

You come to the end of the corridor, and it opens suddenly up to an expansive cave. A large city, looking almost organic with its flowing lines and large spires, looms before you and sparkles in the darkness.  Beneath is a great lake of inky black water with untold depths. A deep rumble shakes through the air, and a great red light shines momentarily from within the city. Most peculiarly however, is a staircase leading up to the top of the cave, where it punctures the ceiling.
