Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

On the pumpkin!
I jest.

I'm in favour of using a glyph of life (Glyph of Life?) on him, in order to restore him to an earthly, living state. Because he's clearly dead. Or undead. Or something bad. And the Life Glyph (life glyph?) is known to fix all boo-boos, great or small!

Imagine a combination of power goals 44 and 45: The ruler convenes a council of the nobles to appoint you the high priest of the nearby towns. Instead of waiting for them to finish their drinking session, you walk in and crush a goblet while berating their disgusting behaviour and general incompetence.

Judge of intent and psychology etc. are player-side skills. It is up to you to determine the hidden motives of characters and what they are thinking/feeling at that moment. They can just as easily lie to you instead of telling the truth, so be careful.

I think this would be a good time to remind you guys that permadeath is in effect, and if you die, you die fo realz.

Unless it's part of the Master Plan, but I wouldn't rely on that.

"Go ahead" says the man, "you have the rest of your life to do so."

> Start by checking all the doors.

You try to open each of the doors. Noe of them open, and they won't budge in the slightest.

> Use life rune on the man.

You can't touch him, so no.

I imagine it will go right through him, reflecting around the room making the pumpkin grow in size when it eventually strikes it.

You try to cast a spell in his direction. (Magic: Glyphs) (Glyph of Life + Glyph of Projectiles) (26-20=6) (6<10) (Failure!)

Your concentration lapses just for a moment during your casting however, and your spell simply fizzles out.

The life aspect of the spell fails, but the projectile portion remains, propelling you into the wall behind you... knocking you unconscious while the old man absorbs you against your will.
