Better just play it safe and go around the rift. He's your brother, it's not like you haven't embarassed yourself in front of him before.

You look from side to side, and the rift seems to go a long way. It would certainly take a long time before you'd make it to the other side, and your parents would probably be furious by the time you actually come home. Your brother relentlessly teases you from a distance.

Most of the stick around the area that are of appropriate length wouldn't support a cat, and the sturdy ones are too short and stubby. It seems that your brother has made use of the only one., which is now at the bottom of the chasm. Perhaps you would spot more likely candidates in other parts of the forest. You also remember that you father used to keep a quarterstaff and a fishing rod in the attic, along with some rope. Maybe with some exploring you'd find something at home, as well. Your brother has stopper his incessant taunting and is looking on, curious to see what you'd do.


What do you do?

Go to the attic, and get the rope and staff. Look around the attic for anything else.

Get four short, sturdy sticks. Toss two to Bro over on the other side, and stick your two in the ground. Have him do the same as your run home to get the rope and a knife. Cut the rope in half, making sure it is longer than the chasm is wide. Then tie each rope to a diffent stick, and toss the other end to your bro. Have him do the same. Use vines to lash weaker sticks to the ropes to make a bridge. walk across triumphantly.

Boy, the very first pages of this with the ASCII art were quite inspiring. I feel like making a fortress to act like this giant dungeon tower now...  :D

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Still get the staff, for balance. Also, don't use weak sticks in the construction of the bridge.
