(I think we are cursed [not literally... just horrible luck!], maybe the luck charm will help us at least do something without having our heads blasted off.)

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

You take the good luck charm from your bag and fiddle with it in your left hand. You are slightly comforted. You then cast the Glyph of Life onto yourself. (Magic: Glyphs) (Glyph of Life) (78-20=58) (58>5) (Success! 57xp gained!)
Your body heals and rebuilds itself, healing wounds and staunching bleeding. While you aren't healed entirely, you are definitely better. This leaves you tired, however. Also, you notice that the rebels are starting to get up.

You bring forth the alien powers within you and summon up the arcane voice of command. You speak to the world, to the fabric of the universe, bending it according to your will. Your voice becomes strangely bass, and seems to be someone else, someone ancient and powerful. And as you chant, your vision becomes yet darker, and you feel even more disconnected, as if your weren't quite part of this world. You begin to hear voices, distant and barely audible. And when your speech comes to an end, the world suddenly takes on a purple tinge, clouds disappear and the sun turns black (still shining as it always did), but most importantly, time stops. The rebels have been frozen in mid-step. You look at a clock near you, hanging on a wall, and notice that the hands are moving quickly and erratically, as if possessed by some spirit.

Armok We already have used it too much to my liking. For now just 'experiment' on them (Rebels) with runes. Then we kill them.
