If the clergy don't believe that, tell them that summoning is taxing on the memory, causing us to forget all but our weakest spells.

> Ask for what equipment they can spare, and if they know anything about magic.

You summon up your best angel act and try to ask them this. (Acting) (82-30=52) (52>50) (Success! 65xp gained!)

They tell you, still in awe, that they will give you the best of their armour and weapons, and apologise that they have nothing better. They bring you in to the chapel, and the knights, bearing the symbol of a radiant golden sun on their chest, kneel as you pass by. The knights then show you around. When you eventually reach the armoury, they give you some decorated steel armour and a sword, as well as some proper clothes. You are now standing inside the armoury. An armoured knight is beside you.

Wait, if your an angel you should look for the solution that benefits everyone. Only killing those of incredible evil. So, use the "taxed memory" bit to ask them for a magic refresher (not necessarily rune magic).
When we feel prepared, go out to meet the rebels and speak to them. Possibly use the expansion or projectile runes on our voice.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

This.  If we are going to convince them we are an Angel sent from "The One" then we should at least play on the typical religious strings.

And pray to The One that we don't miscast.

...A shame we're supposedly an agent of The One. I'd be rather interested in hearing more about him.

Well that went better than expected.  He went nuts and punched a rabbit to death, then the dogs and the whole dining hall ripped him to shreds.

> Don armour and weapons.

You don them. You feel a bit slowed down by the armour compared to when you were using leather. It is heavy.

> Ask them for a magic refresher, explaining to them that you have forgotten many things as a result of summoning.

You ask them this, and give the explanation. (Acting) (16-30=14) (14<50) (Failure!)

The guard shows you to the library, but looks at you suspiciously. He then leaves, saying that he has to tend to business. He glances back at you several times over his shoulder, though, and he has his hand on his sword, though very subtly. (Psychology) (50-300=20) (20<50) (Failure!)

You're not sure why he left in such a hurry.

We don't have a Heathen Hammer. :( And if we did we probably couldn't use it too well with our currently nonexistent skill in hammers.

Hm... look through the library for anything that might help you learn something. Keep an eye on the door.

As fun as this would be, it would probably end in you getting killed and there's some stuff I want you to do in this world, so sorry.

> Look through the library for anything that might help you learn something. Keep an eye on the door.

You look through the shelves, trying to keep an eye on the door as you do so. You search through several sheles, and although you haven't found any magical books and the such, you did manage to find these:

> "Magic: Volume I, A Description" by Father Gregori
> "Magic: Volume II, Its Dangers" by Father Gregori
> "Magic: Volume III, A Demonic Force" by Father Gregori
> "Magic: Volume IV, The New Plague" by Father Gregori
> "Hidden Mages" by Edward Black
> "1001 Poems About Flowers" by Sister Sophia
> "Magic and Demons" by Brother Brace
> "Divinely Divine Divinity" by Brother David

You see a small, walled in area with many books and shelves in. A sign on the gate inside says, "Restricted Section", and one of the knights are guarding it. You may have better luck there.

Magic is considered a demonic force.
