And as for the size of the runes, it can vary, but the runes the elf gave you are about three finger-breadths long, two finger-breadths wide and half a finger-breadth thick, made of a strong, flame-resistant (but not flame-proof!) wood.
That kills my next idea of swallowing them so they can't be confiscated...

I wish we had a chance to figure out void before this...

Screw it... we always tend to wind up in different places by running... so let's try to heal again, draw sword on this needle wielding guy and bust open the door of this transport to run away.

> Draw sword on this needle wielding guy

You attempt to draw your sword, but you notice that it's missing. You find it leaning in a corner of the ambulance. You attempt o struggle, but the paramedics simply push you down. The medic with the syringe manages to inject the substance into your arm with a sharp sting. your pain starts to fade slightly and you calm down a bit.

The bus door suddenly opens, and you find yourself in front of a white building with glass doors bearing the logo of a red cross and caduceus, with the text "St Joseph General Hospital". You are rushed inside. The interior is a chalk white with some pale grays and blues. Nurses in green and pink scrubs tend to you as you are brought inside a room with a window to the corridor. You are placed carefully into a bed, and nurses begin trying to staunch the bleeding.

Let them work, I guess. It seems pretty risky to try to use a rune right now, since we might lose our legs or something.

...never mind... failure to read lists on my part

Yeah, I guess the only thing we can do right now is:

They seem knowledgeable in treating war wounds with mystical substances that make pain go away... perhaps now would be a good time to rest.

Failing to see them:

> Look around the room for people that look like the ones who wounded our arm

You look around as the nurses treat you. As the medical staff are wearing uniforms, they all look about the same to you.

The nurses have managed to staunch your bleeding.  You are moved down the corridors into a larger, tiled green room and placed in the middle. you see several machines and monitors. They hook you up to several machines, and doctors enter the room wearing scrubs, masks and gloves. Some nurses also enter the room. You see one of the nurses handling a syringe similar to the one you saw earlier.

Say: "W-where is *coughs* my swor*cough* sword? I need *gasp* I need it. I *cough* I must go." (start screaming at this point) "Get away from me you demons!!" Then pass out.

> "W-where is *coughs* my swor*cough* sword? I need *gasp* I need it. I *cough* I must go."

The doctor says, "Don't worry, it's by your bed." The nurse comes forward with the syringe.

> Start screaming, "Get away from me you demons!!"

As you scream, the doctors and nurses hesitate a little. They try to comfort you.

"We-we're only here to help you, okay, we won't hurt you at all."

> Then pass out.

Unfortunately, you cannot faint on command. The nurse injects the syringe into your hurt shoulder, which suddenly feels numb. The place a screen in between your shoulder and you. Although you cannot see what they are doing, you feel a faint prodding and poking inside your arm. After some minutes, you hear a clink behind the screen.

They remove the screen, and you see the metal slug formerly embedded in you on a tray. They put on a mask on your face that is linked by a tube to a machine. They turn it on, and you begin breathing its gases. You feel dizzy and disoriented, and you have difficulty staying awake.
