> Defecate

In your pain and fear, you empty your bowels into your pants. The horrid stench wafts into your nostrils.

> Scream

You try to scream, but your can only manage to let out a faint croak. You turn your see the elf sitting on a stool next to the campfire, absent-mindedly whittling some wooden figurines while eating some bread.

> Attempt to dispel the magic

Again you try to disconnect the magic, wading through your foggy mind and weak body, summoning up your last powers. This time, you succeed, but the orbs linger on. Now disconnected from their source of power, they perform their second task. They target the nearest thing they can find, and this unfortunately happens to be you. Your last will and energy expended, you do nothing but watch in paralysed terror as they attack you, shrieking and pummeling and beating your body to a bloody pulp. Your vision grows dark, and you feel nothing...

you feel nothing...

feel nothing...

nothing...

You wake up back at camp. The elf has patched your wounds, and you see you are covered almost head-to-toe in bloodstained bandages. The whole camp is littered with various bottles, ointments, fabrics, tools, scrolls and splattered with blood. You feel very weak, and every movement you make sends another jolt of pain down your body. You have a headache again as well, and your eyes hurt. In the middle of it all sits the elf, holding a delicate golden necklace. The elf turns the locket over and over in his hands, looking at it wistfully. He kisses it once, softly. You hear a faint sigh.

He hasn't noticed you yet.

Thank the elf.
Then go practice some more magic, starting with using the life glyph on yourself!

Okay, perform a psychology check to try and get it to level one. Also to glean more information about the elf.

Spoiler: Heh. (click to show/hide)

Really though, you have to be more specific than just "try to glean more info". "Ask why bread tastes bitter" would be a good command. Or even a dialogue.

Ask elf to demonstrate his own magic powers by casting all runes at once. Run behind a stone tree.

You try to tell him that, but because your head is bandaged you can only let out a mumble. The elf notices  you and quickly puts away the locket into his pack, and comes up you.

"Ah. you are awake. Good. I almost though I was tending to a dead body and not a wounded human!"

The elf laughs, awkwardly. He turns toward the fire, and staring into it, he tells you,

"I suggest you stay and rest here for a couple of days until your wounds have healed. You sustained quite a bit of damage, and it's a miracle you survived, even with my help."

You manage to open a hole in the bandages for your mouth to move properly, and ask him.

The elf replies, "By all means, practice magic. Simply be more careful in what you do. Some measure of luck can't hurt either." (bad luck)

While you're about to cast the glyphs, the elf stops you and says, "I wouldn't do that if I were you. You're pretty beaten up.

> Thank the elf, and ask his name.

You thank him, and you ask him for his name. He replies,

"I am Cacame Awemedinade. I was a king, long ago."

Thank Cacame for his help, and rest. While resting, ask if he is that Cacame Awemedinade.
