The Great Tower: A Dungeon Adventure
« on: February 19, 2010, 02:55:50 pm »

We, I've decided to host a forum game. It's called The Great Tower. You guys'll be the adventurer, suggesting actions, and I'll be the GM. The game wil be illustrated in grayscale ASCII, as grayscale is more appropriate for this tone of game in my opinion. Go ahead and pretend it's a colourblind adventurer if you need a reason. You can train skills as well - You start with training with long swords, but you can train magic if you want to.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

You are an adventurer. One of many entremeneurs in this field, you go about, hunting in dungeons. However, competition is hard and others such as you have almost always proved to be superious to you but in one area: Bravery. And so you notice a gap in the adventurers' hunting territories: The Tower. Nobody ever goes close to the Tower - unti now, that is. You trek through the evil wastelands surrounding it, until finally, after the unbearably long trek you come to the face of the tower.

The terrain doesn't look very good for hunting. Perhaps something in there will be edible - if not, you'll die in this wasteland just getting home.

Perhaps another adventurer would have packed more food. Alas, you are not the best planner. You are the best brave ... er. Or something. Now is the time to put that to use!

(I have tried to find the general intent of the posts.)

> Walk along the wall, looking out for any edibles.

You do so, and you see yet another section of smooth back rock. You look around while walking, and manage to find some berries on a bush and slimy grape shaped globs under a rock. You do not add these to your rations bag yet, however (Once identified as food, it get abstracted in there. Otherwise not). The globs shiver at your touch. You look at the wals some more , and as you look at it, the rock opens up to form a long hallway inside. You cannot see the end.

>Enter the hallway.

You enter the hallway. Wow, that's a long one...

Suddenly, you find yourself in a small room. You do not know how you got here. There is a door in front of you.

You do so, and you end up in the same room you began in.

> Moan, "Oh god I'm going to die in this hell pit!"

You scream out your plight into the world in general, overcome by panic. Your wailing echoes around the room several times before fading, which is strange for a rooom so small.

> Sniff a glob

You take one of the globs in your fingers and sniff them. They smell faintly of vinegar.

> Cook a glob

Alas, you do not have any tinder to burn. You could try it raw, though.

> Examine the room

The room is made out of a grey rock-like material. It's far too smooth to be actual rock, and upon clloser inspection the whole room is made of a slab of this stuff. The room is putting you off slightly, though: Things seem to change as you look at them, and you keep expecting the floor to open up.

Actually, I'll do it in colour now.

> Close eyes, walk south with hands in front.

With a whoosh and a sensation of travelling long distances you suddenlyl find yourself in the midst of a dwarven party. Several dwarves take out their axes and growl at you while some others faint or run away. You also see two elven corpses and a live elf - or, at least, his/her feet - under a pile of dwarves, seemingly unaware of the new event. You cannot see what they are doing, however.
