How about a compromise? Say that the controversial god sometimes takes the form of ____, and is otherwise usually ____?

That way, both branches can believe it more comfortably, setting them up for a later merge.

Feratha sometimes takes the form of Human, and is otherwise usually The Sun.

There we go.

Well, we've reached an ultimatum. I must not lose followers to this false "Risen Paganism", and you care about our people starving. No one preaches anything until we have food, or there will be a holy war that will surely result in everyone starving.
Semi-edit: I don't like the compromise. Fire is a destructive force when it occurs naturally. He was removed officially from the pantheon anyway.

Holy smokes, people. Do you really care about your made-up hokey religions so much that you will let the game people starve because of it? Listen, this game is really fun and I'd rather it go on for a while.

So, that's four against a holy war that leaves us starving, and one for it.

I'm against claiming that Feratha has a human form. Feratha is greater then any of us, and clearly has no need of a human body.

Fire is necessary to our survival though, also you cant get rid of a god that easy!

I will continue to push for Feratha because animal gods just wont meet our needs.

In light of the whole starving thing I will back off though.

Honestly, Cript, I mean no offense, but I don't know why you're getting so worked up about this fire god. I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually do anything. We've never run any definitive trials with praying to gods - and heck, we've never even prayed to Feratha. Basically, I don't think Feratha is helping us because:
1. We've never tested it.
2. We've never prayed to Feratha, so there isn't even anecdotal evidence.
3. Even if Feratha was useful, how could he help? I can see might or deer for a good hunt, or Sudile for gathering, but how would fire be useful? We already have fire.
4. The onus is still on you to prove that Feratha does something.

Cript is backing off, so will I. If Nirur doesn't stop preaching the fire god's ways, though, I may just have to kill him in his sleep. (just kidding kind of...)
I just thought that escalating up a holy war would mix things up a bit, cheddarius. If that's what you're wondering.

Yah, I am not really getting worked up over here, sorry if I seem that way. Probably a combination of lack of sleep and being bad at roleplaying.

Any way:
1-2: Yah i doubt that praying gives anything, maybe a small moral bonuses, but I doubt even that.
3: Because he represents progress, we don't want to be hunters and gathers forever, fire is the single greatest achievement of mankind.
4: If the plebeians believe in him and pray to him I doubt any bonuses will be much better or worse than if they went to a different god. I summit that all gods are worthless other than a way to control the commoners, and that control would be easier with one over god to say we are the voice of.

Anyway, sorry for cinda-sorta starting a holy war before we can take it.

P.S. I still don't understand what he meant by Ant.

Going to bed now goodnight.

All gods are worthless. I'd still expect one elder to get caught up in delusions of religious grandeur and attempt to lead a branch of religion, though. I'm trying to be that elder.

I don't know, I think maybe RNG will see fit to make even gods that we make up do cool things for the sake of the game.

Based on the fact the large group of hunters is doing far better than org and myself would it not make sense for us to join them (or them us). Indications are a large group works better.
