RNG, can you tell us how long it will take, in turns, in general, to grow the kind of plant we have access to growing now?
What, the berries?

*Debates giving away critical information*

Hmm...

*Decides to help elders out*

3 turns.

(as with babies, it'll depend on RNG being kind enough to shorten growth to a few turns)
???

Isn't there just one kind of plant? Known as Berrius generica?
No.

RNG, what are you using to do this?
???

MS Paint?

Okay, so I've combined Cript's ideas and our discussion. Who agrees with this?

3 gatherers in C7 move south, taking up to 9 handfuls of berries and all the seeds from refuse, then farm
7 gatherers in C7 move north, taking as much as they can, then gather
The council members and children in C7 move north, taking as much as they can and praying to Hakis The Graceful for bountiful game
The hunters in C7 move north, taking as much as they can, then hunt
The hunters in C3 hunt both turns.
The elders introduce the clan to Feratha the Sun God, bringer of fire

Yes.
Perhaps we should use our religion to... Exploit our people more? We just need to get all of them to be pious enough, and we can make them work much harder, and make them do what we want by claiming "the gods have told us to do so!". Whether or not you believe in the gods like I do, if you pretend well enough we may have a tool at our disposal.

Honestly I was debating turning gods into a long term power grab, slowly gaining the ability to over ride what you guys told my followers. Not to really take power away or even use the power, just to see how far I could get it before you guys caught me. I thought experiment really.

I have decided not to that. Because that is a dumb idea, but now I don't know what to do with the religion, we may be able to use it to make them work harder but I suspect in the hunter-gatherer phase they will be working as hard as they can because they need to to survive. but who knows what it can do, at lest it may be able to calm some malcontents.

Also I vote that my guy becomes high priest of Feratha.

Because I think we need to investigate this religion stuff closer.

I, for one, am one of the 30% of the devout agnostics of this tribe, and I believe that becoming the high priests while faith is still so low would undermine your authority!

This high priest idea is intriguing. Still, I must agree that it would most likely be wiser to delay our announcements.

Also, dibs on the high priest of the god of snakes. This should put me in a good position to eventually create an assassin's guild.

Turn 5:

A small group of gatherers heads south. They plant several rows of berry seeds to try and grow their own.
A large group of gatherers move north. They gather all of the berries that they can.
The elders and children move north. As they migrate, most pray to Hakis.
A large group of hunters move north. They hunt for game, and find a small deer.
A small group of hunters in the north hunts for game. They find a few rabbits.
The elders speak of a new god, a god of the sun. The people are reluctant to accept a new god that does not take the shape of an animal.

The Tribe:
C5: - Main Tribe
5 Council Members(Killer, Paul, Chedd, Frederick, Cript)

All right. C3 is empty. I assume C5 is too, since we just caught a deer. Let's move on.
In addition, I think we should combine the two religions. We need as many followers as possible for maximum benefits.

Oh, and as a footnote, it really doesn't matter whether you believe in deities in real life. They might be useful for something in-game, and we should see if we can get something from them, and set up some nice rigorous tests as soon as we can.
You guys good with this?

C5 Elders and Children go southwest, carrying as much as possible, then pray for a good hunt
C3 Hunters go SW, carrying rabbits, then hunt
C5 Hunters go SW, carrying as much as possible, then hunt
C5 Gatherers go SW, carrying as much as possible, then gather
Formerly C5, now B6 Elders remove the Sun God to combine Natural and Risen Paganism
C9 Gatherers gather 1 turn, then plant 1 turn

I vote for that.

Also they are not deferent religions per say, it is only the divide between the ones who believe in Feratha as a supreme deity and those who don't. Seems hard to bridge that type of gap.

Also when we do start becoming high priests I call high priest of Feratha.

Wait, how did Org and Shades not starve? Did they just eat the rabbits whole or something?

Instead of removing the sun god, why not give it an animal form? I know of at least one tradition where the sun god is a robin.
