How can you not get base ten measurement system?

The base 16 and 12 that used by the Imperial system is retarded. Most of it goes unused. How many peeples use barrels, bushels, and rods?

I did get the base ten of metrics.  It's the imperial system I only got by brute force of will.

What do you mean? I mean, you can't express base 10 as hex as efficiently as fractions.  Maybe.

Buh, I hate XKCD.  That's not a comic, it's a chart.  When I read a comic, I don't want to feel like I'm being given a presentation.

Anyway, is it really important for us to use metric?  We use it for some stuff already, and otherwise we get along fine.

Yes.
Metric is just better.  God, the headaches I have had from dealing with imperial.  And I grew up with imperial, for pete's sake!  I didn't learn metrics until 9th grade.  I picked it up quicker than it takes for light to go 1 nm.

So since you don't like Imperial it's an inferior system?  I'm fine with either, although conversions occasionally trip me up, especially with temperature.  I can generally judge the conversion though.

I don't like it because it's hard to work with.  Just going from a large number of feet to inches is inconvenient.

I also wish that tablespoons and cups and stuff didn't exist. I mean, just look at this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cup_%28volume%29

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablespoon#Traditional_definitions

There's like THREE different kinds of tablespoons, and SIX different kinds of cups! Can you believe that?! Because I can't believe it.

Most of mine.  I mean, raptors are just a staple, you know? Like, daily!

Lovely fractions are part of the quaint charm of the English system.

No the fact he doesn't like the imperial system and the fact that the imperial system is inferior are two separate facts that both happen to be true. It's possible the first fact is due to the second of course but that is something only he knows.
