[MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE] <-- Never remove it.
« on: February 13, 2010, 06:37:03 am »

I never realised how important that tag was till today. I thought, "So what! I'll have the occasional twin."

NO.
That is not what it does, man. I won't just get the odd twin or two.

Instead, one of my planters has given birth to six children over the last two years. Two sets of triplets. Goodness knows NEXT year she'll pop out the same. I'm waiting for the baby flood.

Dwarfsplosion?

sounds like "fun"...for your framerate.
Assuming framerate isn't an issue...what is your population cap set to? And what is the birth limit set to? If you set them both low, you probably won't have too much of a problem. maybe.

If you set the child limit to 100%, and move the population cap to 500, let me know what happens. For science.

Nearly reminds me of the time I set littersize to 100. That was Fun! I should re-do it and screencap it for everyone. I forget what it said!

On the bright side, you can now start a bustling island fortress. assuming you can find a suitable location.

I removed Mult-litter-rare thing...plus have the babies grow into adults after a year!

It amuses me, because now you see people getting elected as mayor who had like a dozen brothers and sisters and no friends, so you know exactly where these guys got their votes.

Removing that from a wimpy race can result in amusing things during worldgen.

A: 350 elves, 100 lost
D: 20 humans, 1 lost
Defender was victorious.

I add it to my nerfed gobbos. now they come in hordes. they killed a champion axedorf by piling up on him and stabbing him. Like the above poster said, adding that will make worldgen funnier. I had a world where a siege of over 3000 gobbos attacked some human/dorf fortress with less than 200, and the humans didn't lose a lot. ;D

I added that to orcs in Dig Deeper and they didn't really grow much, but then again I think I boosted Dwarves too much :/

Will castration, condoms and abortions be added at some point?

Abortions are already possible, sort of.  A pregnant female dwarf can be induced to miscarry by the right amount of trauma.  How much trauma is required is unknown;  research will be required to determine how to reliably induce miscarriage.  The fact that it is currently impossible to determine if a female dwarf is pregnant will complicate this.

Now someone needs to research this.
