KineseN, you have 21 islander hours there.

I've forgotten how to hunt, gather, and use spears!!
I begin work on a stone workshop. I'll eventually get around to crafting a set of tools for it.

I vote the islanders spend 4 hours hunting (With weapons I've made when available), 1 hour cooking, 6 hours gathering fruit, 1 hour helping to expand the farm, 1 hour helping me build the workshop, and 3 hours gathering roots.

Because I have Level 1 in hunting at the start of the day, do I get +10% to amount hunted?

So instead of 2.4 I'd bring 2.6 (rounded off the hundredths place)?

Also, since I hunted clams yesterday and today, I should have (16 x 10 x 2) 320 XP, minus 100 to get to Dabbling and minus 110 to get to Novice. So I should be Novice with 110 XP, right?

Finally, as a skill compromise, if we get a skill to Legendary +5 and we stop gaining XP in it, can we start on a new one without losing it? You'd still just be updating 3 skills per person ... and it's not like we'll hit L+5 for a long time.

Dances With Clams - 16 hours hunting clams, bring meat back to camp, squirrel away the shells.

At Hunting 2 I should pick up 2.9 kg of meat and 4.6 kg of shells.

160 Hunting EXP gets me to 270. I spend 120 to gain Hunting 3 (Hunter) and 130 to get to me to Hunting 4 (Competent), leaving me with Competent Hunter: 20 EXP


I vote the villagers:
4 hours hunting
Cook everything they can
1 hour working the farm
1 hour building the workshop
1 hour gathering wood
1 hour building the hut
Rest of the time gathering fruit

EDIT: Did the math for my turn. Let me know if I made any mistakes.

If possible induce vomiting in the sick islander.
Feed him cooked food and make sure he keeps breathing. Try Herb one on him.

I Think the labor should be

8 hours hunting
one cooking
7 hours building
Also two islanders help me with the sick guy.

If I get help than I will gather more of new types of herbs if the sick islander shows that his botulism is currently non-life threatening.

Statistics-based skills do not take up a slot. For example, training agility. I will expand the slot system if necessary.

Yes. For pigeons, since they are discrete items, it'd be +10% to amount hunted; (1/110%) time spent per pigeon.

Er, yes. I'm not sure how I missed that...

Sure. But if they become obsolete, like Spearmaking when you're cranking out tanks and RPGs, they're gone, of course.

Botulism isn't life threatening. If you've noticed, he just has a counter. Other things, like bleeding and infection, are. But theoretically you could get hit by Ebola, anthrax, and AIDS at the same time and just be out for 1000 days. (Of course, successful healings would bring that down).

People pull all-nighters. It's good in an emergency. It's just that you'll pay for it in the end, a little bit more than you got.

So I mean if you need to spend 8 hours of night harvesting fruit to save your life, and you expect the crops to come in tomorrow, it's better than the 10 hours of sleep you'll need tomorrow to recover, since otherwise you'd be dead.
