Since someone else necro'd the thread I am gonna take full advantage of it.
I am playing STALKER 1 for the first time. I want to know what mod pack would be best for it as I am confused between LURK and Stalker complete.
Do note I am a stealthy bastard(that is want to play like one but cannot because the game has the most poor stealth AI) and I cannot run STALKER smoothly on any other setting except low (My epic PC is having problems with its disk reader so I cannot run the game on it)

Complete is best for first time players.  Closest to the base game, but with bug fixes and graphical upgrades and grenade-throwing enemies.

LURK, in my opinion, has severe issues that make it unplayable.  At the lowest difficulty level, enemies were spotting me from distances where I couldn't even see them, and sniping me with the weakest pistol in the game from that distance.  And players can't aim like that.

Personally, I played through the game in vanilla, then installed the Complete mod.  I don't know about LURK, but Complete crippled my PC in any large map, so if you're only able to run vanilla at lowest settings, you may be in the same boat.  That said, the first few areas, using Complete, are beautiful.

It could be really fun. I mean, hell, Crysis in Delta mode is a lot like STALKER in that fights are things you enter carefully and with pre-planning, and if you're being shot, it's not an indication that you're doing kinda epoorly, it's an indication that you need to run like the fucking wind because holy shit dude you're getting shot.

Although, there's no regenerating health in STALKER, and the enemies are far more terrifying and you don't have as much military training or a super-suit. So to rephrase my statement, Crysis in Delta mode is a lot like STALKER except you're a pussy.

I dislike both the mod itself and the makers.

The damned thing is just a ripoff of AMK with WoW music tossed in and everything made easier.

First thing first, there is regenerating factor of health in stalker which is slow but can be increased with armor or artifacts.
Second, You really do not know how I play Stalker.

I recently finished SoC(True ending), absolutely loved it. The atmosphere and the storyline left an impression on me, has to be the most interesting plot I've played through in quite a while. Also, listening to Dirge for the planet after beating the game makes it feel even better. I've started playing CS now with the Reloaded mod, since vanilla is frustratingly screwed up from what I've heard. I miss some old features and I'm questioning why Reloaded removed the stamina bar and the Geiger counter but the new features are pretty awesome.

The thread hasn't been posted in for a few months, so have you heard about the second Stalker trilogy being made?
