He's not right at all.

Perhaps you'd care to elaborate on how?

He should probably first.
I dunno, those seemed like pretty specific points.  Are they factually inaccurate?

In Oblivion Lost I hear people speaking English, so yeah, he's wrong.

He ignores all other points as well.

Oblivion Lost is the easiest available mod for SoC.
Changes graphics and such slightly, makes guns more accurate, adds way more artifact slots and much better artifacts, re-adds all removed mutants. It's been a while so I can't cover every change.

LURK, on the other hand, is the hardest available mod for SoC.
It's a lot more graphics intense, bringing parts of it up to par with CoP and other parts far beyond. Completely redid all guns, (I'm told they're a lot more realistic but I'm not a gun expert so I can't say so myself) making shootouts more difficult. The AI can see and engage you from a much farther distance, and actually uses crap like flanking. In the reverse, sneaking is actually a viable course of action now. Also got rid of artifact slots entirely, although the actual artifact items can still be picked up and sold.

Also, Bloodsuckers can climb ladders.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this. But lately CoP crashes after letting the intro movies play or skipping them... But it did run before and it did run again after it did this once today. Why does it do this and how can I fix it? If it's a known problem that is.

Is that LURK then? I tried both, and clearly remember one of them changing a majority of the dialogue tracks to Russian, though english text still appeared for them. Both ruined the interface, and LURK made everything look like shit and run at 10 fps on the lowest settings (down from 30+ fps on high settings without it). They were both so unplayably bad I never got further than the loner village with either of them, so I can't comment on what else, if anything, they change.

Possibly your computer is bad? And if you never got further than the loner village, perhaps you should not be making recommendations.

In other news, I am too much of a pussy to going in X18 yet. I mean, I'm playing at night both in game and out, but still. I am berating myself. I'll go tomorrow.

You're going to crap your pants.  I won't spoil anything else, and I suggest you retroactively don't read what I've already said about it.  Hell, I had to take it in two steps, because after the halfway point my nerves were so shot I couldn't aim at anything without shooting all over the screen.  The "ending" really fucked me over, because I couldn't figure out how to kill it, and it's method of attack is pretty nerve-wracking.

Getting out, and seeing shit still acting crazy as I left was the clincher.  I'm never going down there again.

They send you back there three times as part of the main plotli- Nah I'm pullin yer leg.

You get to go to much better places instead.

In the meantime, I don't want to go into X18 with LURK because I just know Holden put all kinds of extra mutants and shit down there.

In other news, it's widely regarded in most STALKER groups that Oblivion Lost isn't worth the time of day because it's an overly easy dumbed down version of AMK with WoW music.

Except for the horribly unlucky scenario Toony got himself into, of course. Two random Controllers in the underground, I mean really.

When it goes from perfectly fine on high settings to completely unplayable on the lowest, then something is seriously wrong. Of course, the biggest problem with both (aside from LURK's brokenly shitty graphics overhaul), is that they reduce the HUD to shit. That alone made OL unplayable.

LURK looks just fine to me.

It definitely sounds like you're the only one having these problems, bub, as I get constant 60 fps with everything. And you said you get 30 fps on high, that's actually not very good.

Yeah, it sounds like either your computer is the issue or there's beens some sort of problem when you downloaded the mod.

I'm having a lot of graphic glitches lately.  I'll be going along normally, then the game starts stuttering, then wigs out completely.  Borked textures, crazy rainbow lighting, air effects jumping all over the place.  The last time I closed the game, it hadn't wigged out, but when it closed it gave me a message about my Nvidia driver stopping.  I suppose I should get a patch, but I figured the Steam version would be the latest.  Wrong?
