Hey guys, with stalker on sale, which one do you recommend from the 3 games?
Shadow of Chernobyl. Definitely. It's the best game in the series. Clear sky is awful, by stalker standards anyway. Call of Pripyat isn't as good as SoC, but it's still pretty awesome, just in a different way to SoC. SoC should also be played before CoP because it's set before CoP. Clear Sky doesn't really matter, but it has some interesting mods.
Really depends what you want.
SoC: Probably the best story, and can be a lot of extra fun with mods such as complete, lurk, AMK/OL, etc. However it's the older of the 3 engine wise, and it also has less features and contains less monsters and such vanilla wise that were removed from the original concept.
CS: The buggiest, and probably the most broken of the 3. However a lot of it has been fixed, some of it is still pretty broken. Upgraded engine, and a few rehauls such as inventory and other features such as weapon upgrading and armor upgrading. The only game that contains faction wars which I thought was awesome.
CoP: The best when it doesn't come to say story/areas. It's limited to 3, abliet larger, but 3 areas in the northern areas of the zone. However there are mods being worked on to add the rest of the other areas. Game is effectively mod influenced, They incorporated a lot of awesome ideas from mods, Stuff is again rehauled, engine is upgraded more.
Also, NPCs will actually stalk on their own, collect artifacts, blowouts are incorporated as random instead of story driven, the game is very close to being completely freeplay and even has freeplay if you want after beating the campaign or something close I believe, mods easily add that in. Combat is better, mutants completely rehauled and much better, the atmosphere is a lot more creepy is certain places, upgrades and such worked on even more.
Quite a few others.
SoP and CoP are the best, both are must buys if you are going to buy any of them. CS is better pretty much only in the fact that it has faction wars. That's about it. I personally find CoP the best, but SoP comes really close.
