When the skills come around the corner...
« on: February 12, 2010, 03:42:02 am »

I know that Adventurers will not have access to skills for a bazillion years, but when that glorious day comes, what will you be doing?

I'll be making a personal fort, complete with farm and well.

making a pit of death that goes all the way to the bottom, then my house which is right at the bottom.
I shall then ally people then fight them and then catapult them into the pit of death (Either by throwing them or by using a dwarf bridge(... notice how dwarf and draw are so similar... ITS A SIGN!).

Oh and then building a giant freaking obsidian tower that peirces the heavens! with catapults on top next to a human town.

I shall then procede to obliterate the said town either with a) arrows from my self so very high up or b) the catapult.

When the overall adventure mode has a lot more interactivity than "hurt someone, trigger zerg rush" by then, too...

Bandits. A bandit camp raiding human cities and dwarven fortresses setting fire to elven forest retreats...wait, that makes me a humanitarian, not a bandit.

I'll make my own fortress. And then I'll provoke elven attacks just to slaughter thousands of those pointy-eared pansy tree-cuddlers in the same way of random combat bullshit like the world generator does currently. And I don't care if worldgen will calculate battles differently by then, I mean the world generator we have now. 10 dwarves. 5000 elves. Who will win? You know the answer already.

Holy schist, this thread is mica me sick.
DF Players never truly leave.  They just abandon the fortress for a few years and then reclaim.

Hermit house, by a river, with a cattle pen and a secret basement for training.  A batcave if you will.

In other words,

I will be ... The Batman.  Dwarf.  Batdwarf.

Actually after this version and its bugfixing version come out toady will start on improvig seiges then adventure skills so we could actually have them before 2011.

He'll also be doing the top 10 items from Eternal Suggestion Voting (get your votes in!), and he's said he doesn't know what order he'll be doing those three things in.  So we could actually get adventurer skills first.

I will use the single best combat skill in the game: the cave-in.
