It was silver, but silver is meant to suck so I made my death less BS.

I am a bit surprised by how common Silver actually is in this game...

As for the most unusual death

It would be when I concaved a Goblin's skull in a single punch...

Wandering into your first bandit camp of the game and finding out it's got ten zillion dwarves in it.

Or at the other end of the scale, dodging into a murky pond. Because of a bonobo. With no limbs left. When you had full iron gear and 18 followers.

Hacking apart a dozen or so illithids, only to have the sole survivor being limbless, mouthless, and several organs heavily bruised breath fire on you, only to bleed to death and you spend the next 3 turns burning alive...

I was so proud...the DF reminded me who's in charge >.>

"The child stabs you in the head from the side with her steel slicing knife. The severed part sails off in a bloody arc. "

You mean Mountainhalls actually are places now? or are you just playing and older version? Because only dwarves have steel.

I got a steel shield off of dwarf at a bandit camp just yesterday, so there's definitely steel to be had. I'm not sure if you can make a dwarf adventurer that starts with it though, or if steel items ever turn up as loot in the treasure stash of dwarf bandits.

About a week ago i updated my game(the last version i had was from like October) i made an adventurer. I had never heard of a boogeyman so i thought it was safe to travel at night. So i went out to travel and when nighttime rolled around i got a message: You are surrounded by incessant cackling. I thought what the hell are these? I say Meh i think i can take them so I try to fight them off but...FUN!

Its more a kind of slapstick horrible, where you laugh as your passing aquaintance is beaten to death by a monster the size of a house using a sock as its weapon of choice...

Got my first quest and it was to kill a night creature and i'm like ok, so i go find the place and three freaking night creatures in the same place. Im like "hell yeah!" and charge in and then the first turn i get stabbed in the face by a copper knife.I died before i could hit one and i was wearing a steel helmet.

Either carefully stepping into a murky pool and drowning, or being ambushed by bogeymen 75% of the  time. 20% of the time, it's due to stupidity, and 5% of the time, i somehow manage to survive. I have survived a few little nighttime assailants ONCE.
That character drowned as one of the aforementioned murky pool deaths.

Most BS thing, total? Discovering that I was a thief when I couldn't recruit companions, leading to a bogeyman death. Ugh.

Bogeymen suck, period. I have killed a family of night creatures and an ettin, among other things, with an adventurer who died to bogeymen one night.

I also find the bogey man to be the most BS-ish.
They completely limit me from plying the "dangerous wild hobo survivalist" characters that i love so much! =

Basically, it went like this.

"Gah, why the hell can't I hit these guys? They shouldn't be this tough!" *swings his two-handed sword in every direction in an attempt to get a hit*

"Wait a sec..." *looks down to notice the Blargh Blarghsville copper coins [4] in his hand*

"FFFUUUUUUUUUU-"

The flying bronze arrow strikes you in the head, tearing the muscle, fracturing the skull and tearing the brain through the rope reed fiber cap!
You have been struck down.

Running across a mountain range, after the Lord of the Realm of Women sent me to kill a titan.

(The Titan was a "six-legged quadruped" crysophase scorpion, which made me laugh. Took a while to chip it to pieces with an axe.)

Just mindlessly running westwards in failing light, up over a slope and WHAM a flash of coloured text and now I'm lying down.

Check the logs - I ran straight into a Giant Eagle, fell over while slaughtering it, and crawled up the slope.

Completely BS death - for the eagle!

Later that same journey, running across the hamletless desert trying to escape from the cackling - did exactly the same thing to a bogeyman.

I was a giant heavy, who ran around eating bogeymen for breakfast, untill one randomly gored me.
The fat is torn, the muscle is torn, the skull shattered.
Went unconscious and awake in the morning, with the bogeymen gone.
Went to a Rebel base to kick their asses too, and I learned that carving knifes are epic to BEAR hands.
Urist McPeasant stabs Red Heavy Giant in the leg, shattering the bone, tearing the muscle and the fat.
Urist McBoneCarver stab Red Heavy in the eye, shattering the skull, and tearing the eye.
Passed out and got curb stomped for over 5 months. Then I bled to death. Not even one hit my lungs so hard as to pierce them, just bruise them, not even hitting my brain, just shattering my skull.
