One barrel holds 10 food.
One granary floor holds 10 food, whilst it can also accomodate hanging food, also... So, one open space inside a granary can hold 20 food.
A granary is a building you designate as a granary. They can be as massive or small as you like, as can any building - you can always expand them.

Updated the wiki so that all of the Playable species have some basic information, if you want to check your species out.

A granary is a building you designate as a granary. They can be as massive or small as you like, as can any building - you can always expand them.

Updated the wiki so that all of the Playable species have some basic information, if you want to check your species out.
Are buildings made from one log per block, or is there some other set amount?

3 blocks constructed per turn
You have to spend for the wall/floor tile (1 block for the whole tile), and a door, and a bed if you want a bedroom.

That's right. "Block" is the term used in construction. A block refers to a wall, floor (And roof along with it), door and bed.

What differentiates houses or condos from an inn?
Could different rooms in one building be given different purposes? IE, could I add granaries to my inn plan?

It can be a tiny hovel of 3x3, or a castle of 50x50. As long as it fits on the map... so, try not to go beyond the map till you need to!

Just a bed will do, even in a 3x3 hut.

Farming is possible. Every block of farmland will give 3 food every 2 days (6 turns). One farmer is needed for every 5x5 block of farming. If there is no farmer, the farm will have to "restart".

EDIT: Is there any effect to training a military?

More people building = faster construction. 2 people will be able to do 6 blocks a turn. 3, 9 blocks. etc.
Two farmers will not increase the speed that food grows on farms, though.

Once you have villagers, you can recruit them. They will go into their own screen, where you can keep track of your military. The military will show name, level, experience and weapons+armour.
You can create a Training Grounds, which is basically an outdoor construction, shown as below. They can train here till a certain level, but after that, only battle can increase their effectivity.
