...I never used my mute...
I also have several games just for the music...

Creaca ;I agree The orchestral peices in wow are delightful, and the nostalgia must be shared...I have songs from the 1800's on my Ipod...

I most often use the mute button in little Flash games with annoying sound effects/mediocre music, and play something better in the background.

One winged angel is made of awesome.
Dancing Mad too.

And Clash on the Big Bridge.

In fact, all FF music is made of awesome.

Morrowind's music, as well as that from Oblivion and (assuming the MIDI-ness isn't a problem at the time) Daggerfall.  Knights of the Old Republic as well (both games in equal measure).  Also:

Say what you want about the game itself, the Orchestral pieces in WoW are a real treat to listen to.

Agreed, at least in some cases (the Storm Peaks music, particularly).

I'm talking about the bronze colossus. It's supposed to be made entirely of bronze.
But really he's just a softie inside. They all are really. When megabeasts come to your fort you never welcome them inside and give them a hug, do you. You heartless bastards...

Depends on the game. Some games (of which a few have been mentioned already) have really nice soundtracks.

That being said, I have used the supermario theme as ringtone in order to be irritating in the past.

Castlevania music is the only game music I'll listen to outside of the game.

Game music... I listen to a bunch of it.  They seem to have more of an impression on me then orchestra... probably cause it means something to me.  Like the Frog's theme music from Chrono Trigger.  It has a knightly feel to it.  Upbeat and a feeling of overcoming stuff.  Probably has to do with what I know of his backstory and stuff.

Guess its more... personal, emotional to me.  Those rose-tinted lenses...

Probably could bring up a lot more examples from CT... >.>  I have the whole music track after-all....

If I ever had access to a good organ, I would learn to play it just for the sake of Castlevania music. Because, hell, it would be fun.

QFT.

I never did like that song. I don't know how an instrumental piece can be pretentious and hackneyed, but there you go.

Some FF music has been good though. Too bad when you're playing you notice the worst stuff most  :(

The game music I listen to all depends on the game.

I'd listen to something like Ace Combat music but maybe not some other stuff. (Like Mario.)

It's an overrated piece, but there's other good stuff in there, yeah.

There was a non-instrumental version, just not on the original Playstation disk as far as I know. I think they had to change the lyrics for one of the sequels/prequels/whatever the hell they've been doing, because the original ones were ripped entirely from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.
