Stupid nobles
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:09:41 am »

Well rather the problem is about some stupid officials, I've assigned them beds at the top of my glass tower, yet they refuse to sleep in them.  I've checked all other beds and they don't own any others, they even just sleep on the floor for no clear reason.  It says they own a grand/royal bedroom under their requirements list, but they still don't use them, any reason why?    ???

There isn't something stupid (like a locked door, missing floor, or poorly placed ramp) preventing them from pathing there in the first place is there?  Alternately, I suppose it's possible it's so far away that they're just passing out before getting there....

Are you sure they can access the bedrooms? Try stationing one of your soldiers in them.

Recruit got in fine, guess it could be too far away possibly, but the other dwarves beds are all only one level below, and they make it fine.

Burn em all in magma and get new nobles.

These ones are broken, obviously.

No doubt they'll start demanding impossible and completely unreasonable things, like pitchblende beds (yay for radiation poisoning), or platinum underpants.

My favorite is when I get a mayor who absolutely insists on having bismuth item in bedroom.  I've asked him politely to show me what we can actually make out of bismuth and he sputters a bit and goes on about how it was supposed to be done last week.

I've been more selective on who ends up as mayor now... I've had to struggle through making spears, quivers, and putting a tin armor stand in his bedroom... I think he must have learned from the previous mayors experience.

I've wonder if a 1 square bar stockpile in his room that only accepted bismuth bars would count, or if you couldn't make bars in the wall (can you do that with brittle metals?).

Nobles are idiots.

I've had countless nobles banning the export of bronze objects even though the closest I get to bronze is copper.

Requesting stupid shit like stone beds.

Bitching about the fortress guard.

Bitching about all the -Alder beds- we have that he wants.
