Now then, scum, let's go over what you just said:
Yes, but I don't know how to push someone to reveal scumtells yet. That's what I'm here learning. I might not be pushing SirBayer as hard as people would like to see, and that's because I have no clue how I'm supposed to. However, fear of being called a lurker and getting voted while trying to observe the ways of the game prompts me to post, and then scum can pounce on me for an easy scapegoat.

My dear scum, why do you think this is called Boot Camp Mafia? If you don't know how to push people hard, you ask the ICs. You put out your suspicions in an unformed state, and you ask for help assembling them. But instead you buddy and you active-lurk and you don't contribute. That's scum trying to avoid being called out.

And by your own logic, you're as scummy as you claim me to be. You're pressing me for the easy lynch because you know I don't know how to react, probably to save you own ass. Shades hasn't really been around to be pressed, and you can't just sit there twiddling your thumbs, because that might seem suspicious. You seem to be pouncing on me after the wave of accusations has been directed at me. While you claim to have been waiting for three strikes against me, you were fine with accusing Shades and waiting. In fact, one of your reasons for attacking me was that I wasn't pushing hard enough for Bayer, despite my accusation, and for bandwagoning.

My dear scum, what would I be saving my ass from? When I voted you, nobody was voting for me, at all. Nobody was pressuring me. Prior to voting you, I FOSed you. Twice. This was not a sudden accusation, at all. Neither was this bandwagoning, as I have laid out my reasons and been voicing them since well before the current wave of votes. You could have chosen someone you could actually make a case for. You might have been able to convince the town to lynch someone other than you. But instead you make assertions and flimsy accusations. That's scum trying to escape being called out.

Aren't you guilty of the same thing right here? If you really thought I was suspicious, you would have pressed/accused me sooner. In fact, unvote, because I think I just proved to myself that Rysith is acting more scummy than BayBay.

My dear scum, it's not the same thing at all. Your scummy behavior went through warnings and FOSes and culminated in a vote, despite your claims. All you have done here is OMGUSed, which I'm willing to label as yet another scumtell on top of the growing panic in your posts and seeming lack of reading comprehension. That's trying to escape death.

Time to die.

Firstly, stop calling me your dear scum. I'm not at all dear to scum like you.

Now. If you actually read my posts, you would see that two out of my last four posts contain questions. It seems to me that you're using your higher experience to disguise your own scumminess by finding faults in my posts.

You're saving your own ass by immediately pressing the newest player who has no idea how to respond. Nobody was pressuring you - yet. And while you may have leveled accusations against me before, you never acted on them until it was obvious that there was support for you. Sure, you FOSed me; wasn't it you that said that if you thought someone was scum, you should immediately press them? Why are you telling me that I should have chosen someone else? Getting nervous and trying to appear to everyone else that you're the paragon of town?

Uh, your own reading comprehension could use a little brushing up. You seem to enjoy twisting whatever I'm saying to suit your own scum agenda. Talk about trying to escape death, man.

BayBay seemed scummy because he's frantic and less collected than usual. While he might seem a bit scummy to me, Rysith is over here pulling off all the same scumtells that he's accusing me of.

*blink blink*

Vector...did you just...that was a language lesson, right? Almost a tricolon, almost a triremic explosion. Huh.

I don't know what the terminology you're using means, but sure.

More statements to Rysith Rysith Rysith: when you repeat the phrase too much, it loses its power.  This is why I don't start every paragraph with "listen up, scumbucket!"  Phrase repetition works best when you have the repeated phrases clustered.  Otherwise you just sound uninspired.  Further, you can't repeat the same appellation too much.  Have you ever read one of those terrible fanfics where one character (e.g. Vincent Valentine) is always referred to as "the gunslinger?"

Quote from: Amber Tears of Gin, by XxVeckie-chanxX
AN: OMG Vinnie is like so hawt and stuff right muse okay lololol.  I don't own Vincent Valentine, Cid Highwind, or a handcart full of mushrooms.  Readnreviewplxkthxbai!! ^_________________^

Cid chuckled at the gunslinger's surprised expression, his breath redolent with tobacco and whiskey.  Said the pilot: 'Hey, Vinnie.  Wanna go #(*$*(#$ in the #@)($*(#)$ with some )(#*)#(*$)#@$)?'

Vincent Valentine, his twin orbs glowing with deep claret contempt, refused his advances.  The gunslinger's heart was torn, twixt camaraderie and fear; if he approached another as a friend, could he possibly escape being hurt?  Or would he, his soul tarnished as age-old silver, only be crushed again like a single red rose in the hand of a jilted lover?

Only time would tell.

Okay, so that's probably slightly better-written than most fanfiction spewed out by 13-year-old girls--i.e., there hasn't been a threesome between Sephiroth, Cloud, and a gerbil yet.  I'm sure you understand my point, however.  Repeat, but don't be redundant, especially when you don't need to use a particular word or phrase to make your statements clear.

To further my phraseology lesson (... for anyone who cares), look at this:

Your scummy behavior went through warnings and FOSes and culminated in a vote, despite your claims.

This is very good.  Why?  First off, the last four words are iambic, which helps.  Second, you properly used the triple-structure this time.  Third, the end-alliteration between the c's (i.e. velar stops) not only ties together your 3-phrase with the end softening, but it also makes you sound more dangerous.  Repeated hard sounds = danger.  P's, B's, and S's are particularly good for this, as well as K's and G's.

Time to die.

This falls a little bit flat.  I think it's because "time to die" is so overused as to be unfrightening.  My personal favorite variant is "prepare to hang."  Gets some nice plosives (p's) in there, along with the long stressed a's.

But instead you buddy and you active-lurk and you don't contribute.

This doesn't work so well.  You don't have any rhythm, which becomes very important for short phrases (you see how the syllable lengths and stresses in your word-choice don't match at all?  That's what's making the phrase fall down).  When you read things aloud, it should sound clear and liquid.  The subject matter should tell you where to direct your volume and voice.  I advocate elegance in all things.

That said, you are of course not expected to adhere to my advice.  I'm mostly throwing these things out here in hopes of someone getting some usage out of them--because this is the entire secret to my game, and I have little else to share by way of special technique.

Jokerman: bring out some quotes on Rysith.  It's the next step.  Right now, you're pushing without much by the way of actual evidence.

Dear lord, we need to end this. I've been set on Joker: Bandwagons earlier day 1. "Rysith is twisting what I say, even if I'm saying nothing", etc.

God, I'm tired of this day.

Because you don't actually have a reason to push him. 1. You do, however, know that if you can apply pressure to him you can get him to crack, and you want to use that to push through a townie lynch on day one.
If you were town, you would want to push people you don't know are scum because day one is the best day to get reactions from people, and you haven't been doing that at all. Plus, as town you would need to push them to find out if they will react scummily rather than being satisfied with the first person you picked up on.

Sure, sure. Trying to get your bearings. Why, then, have you buddied three times even though almost immediately after each time you were told not to do that? 2. Why, then, have you put forward no new arguments of your own since the random voting phase? Why, then, have you only been wagoning on other people's suspicions of SirBayer, who you were the initial attacker of? 3. Why, then, are you acting exactly like a scum trying to push through someone he expects to be an easy lynch?

Because you are scum. Die.

1. Here he is, doing exactly what he's accusing me of. This is just after I said I'm new and still trying to figure it out; who easier to attack?

2. Every point he raises here has already been made by someone else. Wagoning.

3. See number 1. You're acting the same as you're saying I'm acting when you accuse me.

Now then, scum, let's go over what you just said:

My dear scum, why do you think this is called Boot Camp Mafia? If you don't know how to push people hard, you ask the ICs. 4. You put out your suspicions in an unformed state, and you ask for help assembling them. But instead you buddy and you active-lurk and you don't contribute. That's scum trying to avoid being called out.

My dear scum, what would I be saving my ass from? When I voted you, nobody was voting for me, at all. Nobody was pressuring me. Prior to voting you, I FOSed you. Twice. 5. This was not a sudden accusation, at all. Neither was this bandwagoning, as I have laid out my reasons and been voicing them since well before the current wave of votes. You could have chosen someone you could actually make a case for. You might have been able to convince the town to lynch someone other than you. 6. But instead you make assertions and flimsy accusations. That's scum trying to escape being called out.

My dear scum, it's not the same thing at all. Your scummy behavior went through warnings and FOSes and culminated in a vote, despite your claims. 7. All you have done here is OMGUSed, which I'm willing to label as yet another scumtell on top of the growing panic in your posts and seeming lack of reading comprehension. That's trying to escape death.

Time to die.

4. You say that I'm not comprehending your posts, and yet you clearly haven't bothered to read mine, where I do exactly as you suggest - before you say it.

5. I FOSed Bayer before anyone else. While my argument might have been weak - a direct result of this being my first game, mind you - the situation is the same as here. You say you suspected me before the bandwagon; I said I did the same for BayBay. And yet you pounced on me for that? Double standard.

6 and 7. I really don't mean to sound repetitive, but again, you're mauling me for what you're doing, and it seems to me that you're covering your scum self by using my inexperience to block you.

Like that?

Given that my entire mafia style basically comes directly from literary analysis... yes, you are getting style points.  Do it with flair and more people will believe you.

The day has ended!

Final Vote Count:
Jokerman-EXE[5]: Rysith (Buddying and being one-note), GlyphGryph (doesn't like ties {note, based on day almost ending}), Eduren (due to easy lynching), Kashyyk (active lurking), RedWarrior0 (bandwagoning, lack of content)

RedWarrior0[1]: SirBayer (soft-balling, fear of consequences)
Archangel[1]: Shades (hypocritical)
Rysith[1]: Jokerman-EXE (easy lynching)
GlyphGryph[1]: Org (Bandwagon, jumping)
Kashyyk[1]: Archangel (question dodge)

Jokerman-EXE, Townie, has been lynched.

Although you did wonderful and everyone was active, you did not get your man.

It is now night.  Everyone listen up!!

Those with night roles must send in your actions: the doctor via PM while the mafia through quickchat.

Everyone, whether you have a role or not has a task to do during the night.  You MUST contact your mentor and discuss how you did this day.  You can use PM or quickchat if you two had set it up.  Make SURE that I see the communication (either by making sure I'm included in the PM or that I was given the link for the quicktopic).

Before the night ends, EVERY PERSON must have spoken to their mentor, and I don't want to see any "I'm here, bye" mess.  Ask about how you're doing.  Ask for opinion on your hunting style.  Ask about what and who you should focus on next (yes you can discuss about who might be scum: the mentors know even less than you do since they don't even know what you are).

And remember, the mentors are NOT to know what role you are.

It's still night.

As I thought: my weekends are a mess.  It's why I tend to not put deadlines during that time.

Official end of night deadline: Monday 9am (though that's a soft deadline).

Finally back on track.  The day has begun.

First thing to report  weekends will not count as regular days.  I want them to but RL hates me too much.

Besides, it was clear that you guys needed a few days to be able to speak to your mentors.

Btw, if you've realized by now that you have NOT spoken to your mentors through PM or QT then rest assured that I have your name down now.  You have not been prodded (for now) but you will not receive the rank boost.  Don't ask me if you received it: if you have a PM or QT post sent to your mentor between 9pm the 26th and 9pm the 1st then yes, you are ok.

But now the night has ended.  It is now day.

No one has died.
