And then the $200 dollar mobility kit would cost $180.

Guys, when you work everything out, tell me exactly what you want to buy. Not just what you want to achieve, like "I want to get this bonus" or whatnot, but "I want to buy this weapon, 3 PP points, etc. using Haggler"

I will sell my pistol and give $270 to RAM. RAM will buy a Gauss Machinepistol. RAM will give the Gauss Machinepistol to me.

RAM does so.

weapon idea:
Gauss Knife: Magnetic rails along the arm allow this knife to stab at supersonic speeds, though the stresses involved damage the mechanism.
4AP, 4 damage, 10% chance to be destroyed each time it is used. Can be dual wielded, can be repaired for half normal sale price between sessions.

No rolling for destruction. Adds rolls.

Gauss High Frequency Blade
A black handled blade with a rather hefty corresponding sheath. A small trigger is visible on the handle. The blade is smooth, tapering to an extremely fine point, with a single protruding spike on the blunt edge. The metal of the blade has a subtle blue tint, as does the metal coating the interior of the sheath. When the trigger is pulled, the relatively few inches which compose the cutting edge flares with a cold blue light, with small arcs travelling in rolling patterns along the blade. A light hum betrays the blade's mainstay; the combination of a high frequency blade and the application of Gauss's theories as applied to maintain the structural stability of the blade allow the edge to penetrate any material, regardless of strength. As a side effect, the arcing plasma does impressive amounts of damage on its own. This destructive power explains the size and weight of the sheath, designed to prevent accidental fatalities in the event of unintended activation.
Its relatively small size allows for quick strikes at 3AP, but also means it does only 2.5 damage on its own. However, this is supplemented by the searing plasma which coats the blade, which takes 10% of the enemy's current health each strike, applied first. The high frequency blade further supplements this by producing an impressive 1-15 crit and causing any damage done to armour to also be done directly to the enemy (crits double the percentage damage as well as the normal damage).
$
Magnetic CQC Assistance Gloves: Strikes are only 2AP: $
Enhanced Arcing: Plasma does 20% damage on a normal strike: $
Lengthened Blade: Normal strikes do 5 damage: $
Tele-Magnetically Retrieved Ballistic Knife: May attack enemies within two squares: $

Keen Edge
This knife has advanced from a combat knife to a full-fledged war knife. The blade has been sharpened almost to an atomic level using industry-strength lasers that lets you hit for 2 damage, and the titanium alloy it is crafted from ensures it's edge will never dull. The titanium also gives it a lighter weight than common steel knifes, so you can swing for only 3 AP.

Vibro-Blade
Latest from JRPG Industries, this knife uses microsensors and a electroreverberator to vibrate the very blade as you swing it. This vibration will make any armor think twice about getting between you and your intended knife holder. While slow at 6 AP per swing, the blade does 4 damage and partially ignores target's armor.

Phase Dagger
This knife isn't a knife at all, but a short-range lazer emitting device that is contained within the handle of the device. Turning it on will create a 3-inch long laser that projects from the end of the handle, which you can use just like you would a knife; except this laser can cut through just about anything! The near weightless weapon can swing for just 2 AP, and though the wounds it inflicts are minor at 1.5 damage, it completely ignores a target's armor.

Haha.
Monoatomic edges, high frequency blades and ionisation driven cutting. We think alike.

Really long knife: This knife doesn't really belong in the "knives" section, more like with the other melée weapons. But whatever. It has a 24 inch long blade, somewhat long, but also bulky. A fairly heavy knife, it deals a rather hefty 4 damage for 5 AP. It's a mundane weapon at a mundane prices.

Purging Edge: this short little blade has a vial of holy water in its handle and was blessed by a pope. While the blade is made of gilded silver and only deals 1 damage for 3 AP, it does have an edge above the other knives. Its holiness is enough that any damage done to zombies and other unholy abominations is tripled, critical chance goes from 9-11 to 5-15, and buffs from evil things are removed. In addition, you can drink the holy water for resistance to zombies and foul blights upon this earth, though the multiplier is reduced to 1.5x.

Gauss actually had almost nothing to do with Gauss guns - he was mostly a mathematician. They're only called Gauss guns because he did some work in magnetism, and Gauss guns accelerate the projectile magnetically. With the Gauss Knife, it apparently works by some other means, so it has completely lost all connection with Gauss's theories.
Just sayin'.

Plasma coating would ruin boss battles. I could say it doesn't apply to bosses, though. But, the other problem is that it's just another unwieldy calculation.

I read in Hot Zone that this dude had a diamond knife with a one-atom thick blade at its thinnest, but I looked around and that doesn't seem to be true. Oh well.

Keen Edge is exactly the same as the Rapier.
Vibro Blade has the same efficiency as the Keen Edge (get a Keen Edge, hit twice, and you have a Vibro Blade), except it ignores armor. Meh, maybe some other time.
Anyway, the thing is, I don't need more melee right now, except maybe Gauss. I'll take the flavor and assign stats when I need more melee. Thanks!

(By the way, melee has crit 1-10)

Huh. Okay.
I guess you could just replace the plasma damage with damage that does double to armour.

I just saw all the Gauss weapons and didn't want to completely miss out...

I also thought that trying to justify it would be hilarious...

A knife that shot itself at supersonic speeds would blow your arm to smithereens on the first attack. You'd be better off handing it to your enemy and taunting him.

What's in the group inventory?

I'm considering selling the Garand for the better rifle.
