RNG: Again, correct format is not necessary but greatly appreciated.
The claymore claymore is a joke. You're not allowed to get that any more. I'll get the Gauss Carbine, then.

Red: Er... $320? For what? Just as a handout?
Yeah, a lot of the flaws you can stack and basically not be much worse than if you had gotten just one of those flaws. I'll take some of them out, then.
Overpoweredness is comparative. What I mean is, that you are clever. If you put a lot of time into this, you can come up with a character that does many, many, many times more damage than someone who does not put a lot of time into it. I don't like this. That means that people who don't have much time to think about their characters end up being... side characters.

Overpoweredness is comparative. If I'm too powerful, make everyone else more powerful.

And besides, I have limitations. Being put on the front lines, I'll die in an instant and a half, and put back, I'll end up TKing a bunch of people with Sensei, Joy, and Apricot. (Sniper rifles never miss. Not Sniper rifles have perfect accuracy.)

I can't just make everyone else more powerful. I can't say "Okay, you, you have to take this flaw and that perk and whatever". And, okay, suppose I make pistoleers do triple damage or something, so that a normal pistoleer is as powerful as you are right now. Then, there comes along a pistoleer that utilizes perks/flaws to the maximum, so that he ends up being three times as powerful as you are. What do I do then? Make you three times as powerful again? But then what about an average pistoleer, he ends up being weak.

Red, you could easily be on the back lines and just post last, so that you know you'll be firing somewhere that nobody's going to be moving. Your one limitation is that you're kind of weak, and you can just hide behind blast shields then.

Okay. I was just in the mood was all... Here is the correct character format:

RNG: Othar
Money: $0
Status: 3 HP
MP5
Gauss Carbine*
Tinfoil Hat*
Perks/Flaws: 0PP
Hero Class: 75% chance to dodge being hit; Each dead teammate increases damage by 10%, exponentially, for that round.
Gentleman Adventurer: Each turn, can attempt to charm shopkeep into giving him an item for free. 50% chance of success.

Voting for No Ammo.
Don't care about Prone/Standing.
Voting for Patrol for Bandits.

The mood is good, but it would be better if you would post the RP piece, then the correct format under that in a spoiler or something, see?

Red, I shall rephrase my thing because I think I phrased it badly. It's not about overpowered-ness, really. It's about balance. It would be bad to have a shotgun that was way more powerful than anything else but cost $200, and it would be bad to have a really smart/calculating player like you be ten times as powerful as a player who just plays it by ear and doesn't have time to run calculations. It sounds weird, I know. Of course, if you're more skilled, you're better. That's the whole point, right? But twice as powerful, I think. Not ten times or twenty times or thirty times. The best player should only be about... two or three times as powerful as the mediocre one.

The balance problem, I think, is this: Like you said, a lot of flaws overlap, and a lot of flaws are basically equal to the opposite of the perks. That is, if +1 AP costs 3 PP, -1 AP gives 3 PP. This allows players to choose whatever flaws they want and stack them, and in the end, have a very, very large advantage over people who aren't game geniuses. And the overlap essentially lets people get tons of free PP. Would you object to me removing a lot of the overlapping flaws (especially the ones in General) and lowering flaw PP a little bit, then having everyone resubmit their perk points?

Okay. I'll do that in the future whenever I write RP stuff.

What I posted above is the correct format though, right?

I suppose a pruning of the flaws and perks may be in order. I'll assume you have Excel and begin to roughly categorize them to make life easier. Though I understand your points.

Cool, I've edited my post: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=49340.msg1325629#msg1325629
The status section should be ready for copy-pasting.
Utility Belt sounds useful then, maybe I'll buy it later.  I'm good for now.

Wow. So I apparently start off with $1015.
The possibilities astound me. Now let's see just how many of the new weapons I made I can get.
Also, there appear to be some class weapons missing. Would you like me to remedy this?

Wow. I only started with $700 from the sprites I made. Still, I got a perk that can give me free stuff so it might equal out in the end.

Allstone made dozens upon dozens of weapons, so that's why. The majority of the current depot stock is from him, modified to suit the game.

I have removed the following flaws or perks:

These perks/flaws have been changed:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Please check these lists. If you have any of the perks that are in here, please redo your perk/flaws to balance it out again. You may remove perks, get more flaws, buy more PP, etc.

Allstone: Pistoleer, Demo Man, Engineer, and Hero are missing class weapons, I believe. Allstone, you may come up with some, but there's no guarantee I'll pay. I kind of like my own class weapons, and I'd like to come up with more.
I will also pay for Pistoleer flaws, shotgunner perks/flaws, and Machinegunner perks/flaws.

Dwarf, you don't need any perk to dual-wield. Dual-wielding gives you 75% AP, so you can make 33% more shots. You must use the same gun. Also, there are many free .22 pistols in the group inventory. Do you want to donate your $100 to the group, then?

Red, are you satisfied with my pruning? It may seem like snipers were targeted more heavily. That is because they are one of the more powerful classes (shotgunner, machinegunner, sniper), and the only one with such a large supply of perks and flaws, which lets them be very powerful. Look at shotgunners, for example. I pruned 100% of their perks/flaws. I did not prune much from some other classes, but that is only because they did not have many in the first place, or they weren't very powerful/able to stack.
