Allstone, those are quite excellent, thank you very much for modifying them. I will put them in later.

So grenades are definitely like they are now; whether grenade launchers merely increase range or use infinite ammo is disputed.
Pros-grenade launchers:
GLs are more of a conventional weapon, and should have infinite ammo like the others.
GLs would let demomen exclusively use explosives, instead of
GLs would make the demoman class easier to take.

Cons-grenade launchers:
GLs with infinite ammo would suck to calculate. Not very much, but a little. And they would be really bad to draw, but I guess I could make a standard explosion image.
GLs with infinite ammo would be overpowered, unless they did stupidly weak damage. Of course, doing stupidly weak damage wouldn't necessarily be that bad.

What do you guys think about the engineer class? I'm thinking maybe they can be a support class that erects blast shields, gun mounts (sandbags), etc. in battle. They could sight enemies to increase accuracy, hurl flashing lures to draw enemies toward a certain point where the demoman has placed 50 tons of explosives, call for emergency backup, etc. I think it would be pretty awesome to have more support classes.

I'm all in favor of more support classes. The shielding thing sounds interesting, as does the lures. Engineers could also create automatic or maybe remote-controlled turrets as well, though there might need to be a limit on the number they can build.

Hmmm.

Maybe combine the two options.

Grenade launchers have infinite 'weak' ammo. Basically small grenades that hit a decent area but don't do that much damage. Good for softening up a large group of enemies.

However, you can purchase more powerful grenades that do more damage, or have a larger area of effect, or whatever. Multiple types of buyable grenades might be good.. This lets the grenade launcher be a primary weapon for the demoman without being too weak to really be useful. With money he can get more powerful grenades to use in specific situations, which adds a strategic element to it.

Here are some ideas for upgraded GL ammo:
Large Frag: Does the same damage as the normal GL, but has a larger area of effect
Concussion: A high powered grenade that does decent damage
Crack: A high powered grenade that ignores the armor of its targets
Stun: A grenade that stuns the zombies in the blast area, making them lose a turn.

I like Meph's idea.

Chedd, I assume you are using 1d20 for hit and crit. I could possibly write you a C++ program to simplify the turns greatly. I mean, why not automate? It wouldn't be able to do LOS, but it should make things much easier on you. How much would you pay for it?

That's a great idea. It would also make stuff like shotguns and automatic weapons more viable, since it should be pretty easy to write an algorithm where you enter how many dice you're rolling and what the accuracy of the gun is, and it gives you how many shots hit and how man of those crit. Heck, instead of giving hits & crits, it could just spit out damage. I would do it myself, but I don't want to take your idea.

Meph, if I understand you correctly, the grenade launchers have infinite weak ammo but the special ammo is limited, correct?

Red: Hmmm, I can write one in Python fairly easily...
Eh, I'll buy it. Payment really depends on level of sophistication. For example, if you wrote a program that saved weapons and players to text files, and each round I just had to input the relevant info (name, weapon, perks, etc.), and each turn I could just say "Bob fires at one bandit, then another bandit, then a zombie until they are dead" and it would output who died and such, that would be quite valuable. Even better if it's got a GUI with drop-down menus to choose perks and stuff...
What do you think is reasonable? What can you make?

Correct. So, say special ammo costs $25 or whatever. It's much more useful or powerful than using the unlimited weak ammo, but you have to pay for it so you're not likely to spam it. And if you are spamming it, the group isn't using all that money for something else. So it should balance out.

Also, by Back and Down I mean Down X 2 and Left X 2. Although as long as I have a clear shot on our enemies I don't care that much.

The Demoman will have mines and stuff.

Poll:
A. Grenade launchers have infinite ammunition.
B. Grenade launchers use grenades as ammunition.
C. Grenade launchers have infinite ammunition but can also use special ammo, which is bought in the same way as grenades.

Can't do GUI or drop-downs, but it shouldn't be too hard to do. I'll get you more specifics later

Also, I choose C.
