A Machinegunner with Speedy, Lively, MOAR DAKKA, Powered Mobility Aids and Big Damn Hero under the effect of Epeniphrene and Superhuman Serum standing next to an ally with less than 50% health wielding a fully upgraded M61 Vulcan and using its ability is potentially able to do 8043 damage in a single turn, divided between nine squares arranged in a square. This is, on average, 893 and a third damage per square. If someone gets this build, you'll need to start using scientific notation to show enemy health.
More impressively, a similarly fully pimped out Shotgunner with class weapon's ability, etc. is able to do 12096 damage in a single turn on a single, adjacent target.

You would need more money than, probably, you will ever have to get that kind of firepower.
Even if you did, I could make enemies with 90% damage absorption.
Or I could give enemies just 1 or 2 damage absorption.
Or I could give enemies the first turn. You saw how the best people were gunned down last-last round.

I just found it impressive that it's theoretically possible to do 12096 damage in a single turn.

Yes.

EDIT: Well, actually, if you think about it, it's not that impressive. It's more of a display of my poor game-balancing skills; in an ideal game, most paths would be equally feasible, and it would be important to have all of them (e.g. if you only have shotgunners, you fail against high-armor opponents). In my game, it's so unbalanced that if you minmax, you can be crazy powerful... it's as if I made shotguns do 10,000 times as much damage as other guns, then they would do hundreds of thousands of damage in a single shot.

I wonder how much damage an acrobat could do with all the perks and unlimited throwing knives...
Or whirlwind, no, whirlwind grants 8 attacks for the price of three, throwing grants 10 attacks for the price of 3...
+3 AP from general perks, and a conditional x2 damage(x2)
+10 AP from Acrobat and perk=23 AP
Brute: Half AP attack, Half AP attack when dual wielding knives; Dual-wield, 3/4 AP attack=.75AP per attack=30 attacks
Brutal: -6 PP: 50% more damage with melee(works with thrown melee weapons?)*1.5
Agnryfaic: -4 PP: When health drops to 1 or less, berserker rage is activated, doubling damage*2
Martial Trance: -7 PP: If there are three or more times as many zombies as humans in a 5x5 square around you, you enter a martial trance and have double damage.*2
Backstab: -3 PP: Can backstab for double damage*2
Big Damn Hero: -5 PP: 2x damage when next to (orthogonally) a teammate with 50% health or less*2
Whirlwind: -7 PP: Can attack surrounding 8 squares for triple AP(to throw into 8 adjacent squares) 30 attacks become 80 attacks.
5 damage *1.5*2*2*2*2=120x70 attacks(need to be next to an ally)=8400 damage, 16800 if every hit is a crit...
I suppose it might be worth something if you can get a hold of some performance enhancing drugs and some inspirational allies...

P.S.
It would also cost 100 monetary units per attack(Or 7000 for the whole fiasco, maybe less, depending upon whirlwind...), except for the first two attacks, which would cost 120 initially, but you can recover it at the end of the round. To be able to be sustainable you would need to add 3 AP to each attack to draw a replacement knife, but if you had 2 knives drawn and made a whirlwind, then presumably you would still be able to attack the surrounding 8 squares, reality would just have to break to make way for only have 2 units of ammunition to do it with... So 8.25 AP to make 7 attacks : (

Problem is that an eighth of that damage is on the aforementioned low health ally, and requires that he stay alive through it. Also, don't forget to add the mobility aids and drugs for an additional 10AP and double damage.

Quote
Brute: Half AP attack, Half AP attack when dual wielding knives; Dual-wield, 3/4 AP attack=.75AP per attack
Uh, what?
Dual-wielding and Brute only gives 1.5 AP per attack, not 0.75.

Also, you're assuming that you're using both Whirlwind and throwing your knives; you can't use both at the same time. Whirlwind is only used with regular stabbing. Also since you're using Backstab, it would require all the zombies to line up to you facing away, which is pretty crazy; also in practice whirlwind can really only have 6 hits, not 8, as you would either have to cut a path in, or have zombies charge at you from all directions (which is really unlikely), and your teammate takes up a space.

Really, a lot of these are really specific and rely on luck.

Okay, no whirlwind, but the second halving was for Knife to see you.

With the whirlwind clarification, but adding meds and gear, 33 AP = 44 attacks x 240 damage = 10560 damage, which is spread across 44 targets that are facing away from me...
or 21120 if they are all critical hits...

ok i have not finished reading this, bu id like in, this assumes there is still an un-upgraded mp5 in the group inventory, if there is a better 1, all the better, this is in response to someone saying we needed a vulcan gunner, he is geared towards that end, description and name will come if he is ok.

$100
10 PP

Pick up smg from group inventory

Gunner (5pp left)
Never Surrender (11 pp left)
Machine gunner (4 pp left)
Rambo (9 pp left)
haggler (2pp left)

pp costs 40 * .9
snag $8 from others, grab scavenger perk

10 AP
150% damage for machine guns
75% damage for other ranged weapons
12.5% damage for melee weapons
automatic weapons take only 70% ap to fire

MP5: 0.7AP 1.125 damage
accuracy 4-17, crit 9-10

Welcome aboard, I think that our most pressing need is for an engineer, but another spray painter is always welcome...

well i might go and design an engineer too, but all the "spray painters" you have are not ramping for an early vulcan, scavenger+haggler

engineer option; opinions pls

100$
10PP

hmm engineer flaws look realy bad for munchkins

ok

engineer (5pp)
Handy Man (3pp)
Contractor (-1pp)
Architect (-5pp)

get 5 PP using group funds (valiant would be BAD), unless you guys think coward is worth it
arnour also welcome

constructions will come when people decide theyl be useful, help gaining an instant pillbox also welcome, dual wield .22s

Do what you want to, we seem to be doing okay, so long as you don't mind the smell of the rotting corpses...
