Some mass multiplayer frippery right here:

http://www.crypticsea.com/c/

Very simple game, tiny download, not a great deal to it but it seemed like perfect DF crowd fodder.

You basically start out as a peasant, engage in a mass brawl (up to 100 players) and if you survive you get to rank up and purchase new weapons and armour. There's some badass Kings lording it online at the moment, but if enough peasants amass...

See you in the fields!

Are there any combat tactics?  I've just been mashing the attack button with disappointing results.  Also turning around in battle is tough.

Much gory fun, though!

Hitting the front is not useful, as everyone has shields. If you don't have one, buy one now..

Tactics are initially pretty much to try and pick and choose your fights. Take the easy kills and then high-tail it so you can actually spend any gold next round.

If you get into a *shock horror* face-to-face one-on-one then use strafe to move around in an attempt to keep your shield facing them, and strike either when you get an angle on them, or just after they've struck you(r shield) as that's when their defences are down.

Worse still, if they're in better armour than you, you'll just have to try to keep your shield towards them and either retreat towards some friendlies (holding strafe as you go) or push them towards the same and pray their nerve goes when they start getting approached from all sides. Ideally you're looking to survive early on rather than go around owning everyone. Body type might play a part in your survival at this point.

Body type is the second option before the match starts btw - small, medium, large. Skinny guys accelerate faster but can take less punishment and, obviously, vice versa for the Cartmans. I'm not sure at this point if your size affects your strike speed or not.

Funny little game. I played a few rounds. Wound up racking up 8 kills before dieing, but my team lost *every* round so I found myself retreating a lot haha.

I'm up to 29 kill and 850 gold atm, I could be king if the other king would leave :p

Had a good run earlier and got joint top. Seems the board stops at 4095.

Some bugger with freaky green and white livery toppled me in a mob of AI peasants and stopped a 235 strong kill streak. Wonder if it was one of you... looked kinda intricate enough to be dwarven handiwork.

Bravo if it was. :D

Had a decent run as king of the blue, made it to 8th on the score.  Decided to use the small body and just chase other players out of boredom, died in a flurry of AI mobs.
