Ok, everyone go on this Saturday all day so we don't miss each other.

It's 3:09am Saturday morning, I've been at work since 9am yesterday.
I don't think I'll be meeting up in Uru.

Unfortunately, I was "on call" as backup for my department in case the person who was supposed to work today isn't around. More unfortunate, they're not working, so I have to take their place. I might be able to catch up with everyone maybe at 8:30-9:00PM (-5 GMT), and furthermore, I'm not gonna be around in a few minutes.

On he bright side, these are the most hours of work I've had in a long time. A fair exchange for what it's worth. See you then.

I finally got everything taken care of. Downloaded, patched, and got an account. I still need an avatar though.

Uru is from like 2004 (although the graphics are epic for back then, and the art direction is immortally awesome). Your computer isn't going to have trouble with it.

This prediction was false - WINE fails. Windows laptop is having... problems, and has no internet. Arghhh, need to get on this in case it disappears again...

double digits work by multiplying the first digit by 25, then adding the second digit, so 1-0 would be
(25*1)+0

21-4 = (21*25)+4

Progress Report:
-Got my Ki
-Solved the desert land (Cleft, I think) and got a bit more information (or as pun would have it "Cleft's Notes"). My home got snazzier and got 4 pedestals with links to 4 separate worlds after solving the world (shouldn't be too hard to figure out).
-Collected about 6 pamphlets so far for my personal link book (whatever they're supposed to do).
-Got more books added to my library.
-Went to mushroom kingdom, and figured out how to power a generator without instructions (kinda stumped on how to fix the 3rd link so power can get to it.)

So far: I'm liking this game. Is it possible to tour worlds with others? Or are the towns (where the libraries are) the only social grounds/more players?

Tip for newbies (which I figured out myself), if you want to progress with the game, the home link world is where you'll find your way to progress. So at least, the game won't be a social network game only. Provided you're new to the Myst series, I think you'll find this helpful. Oh, and the Ki is your best friend; especially when taking snapshots or making basic notes. Saves on paper. Then again, nothing feels more classic than a pen and paper to solve puzzles.

Yes. if you take out your book int he bottom left of your screen (Relto), there is a symbol on the very first page that is a circle with 2 hands in it, click on it, then you can click on another person and they will teleport to your Relto, then they can use your link books as long as you unlock the top holder.

Rilder ingame, but its kinda hard to play with others, since not everything is DLed apparently so everytime I go to a world I haven't been too it downloads something for 5-10 minutes.

They add new scenic elements to your Relto.

Also, the lot of you all probably want to find a new Bevin to join.  When you enter the game you're automagically assigned to a numbered DRC Bevin...  Your Bevin is your 'neighborhood', and the list of 'neighbors' in your Ki is the other players in your Bevin.  Also, your upperleftmost book in your Relto library goes to your neighborhood's own Bevin.

Changing bevins is complicated but can be very worth it, since you'll have other players with you that are also smart enough to have changed theirs (and have enough good taste to have joined one with you in it).  I'm in the Uru Obsession bevin, which has over a hundred players by now.  Changing bevins is kind of complicated:  You need to delete your original Bevin linking book (the square icon at the bottom of the book at the top left in your library).  Then, you need to get someone to share their Relto with you and unlock their Bevin, and then when you use their Bevin link, you join their neighborhood.  Caution:  Not all players can share their Relto!  It's a little buggy, and people who have slow computers can't always share theirs with other people (but the computer on the receiving end shouldn't matter).

One more thing.  Your Nexus is awesome.  If you're like me, then at first, you know your Nexus as "that empty room that a lot of books lead to, where you can't go anywhere or do anything except Relto back home".  This couldn't be further from the truth.  There's a thingamabob you can fiddle with on the machine in the Nexus, which acts as kind of a megalibrary:  You can visit other peoples' bevins with it, in addition to having an easy way to cities and pod ages and other stuff like that!  If you want to join a specific bevin, it's not a terrible idea to see if there's people currently in that bevin, and teleport there.  Plus it looks cool.
