[40d] Squad selection messed up
« on: February 09, 2010, 08:34:53 pm »

This bug had been irritating me for while. I use the Mayday tileset, so changing squads is alt+2 or alt+8. However, on random occasions, instead of switching squads this will lock me onto the squad. In key bindings, the only thing set to lock onto a squad is 'l'. The weird thing is it happens randomly. It shows up for an hour or two (persisting through saving and reloading) then disappears later. I really don't get what's causing it. If anybody has a fix I'd appreciate it.

EDIT: As a test I changed key bindings for moving the selector from alt+8 and alt+2 to the up and down arrow keys. It still did the same thing.

True, but at a certain velocity the resulting explosion expels invader-bits at fatal speeds. You don't want to be dropping trogdolyte-shaped shrapnel bombs into your boneworks.

Hopefully this is obsolete in the upcoming version, since the entire squad control system has been replaced.

One way you can have this happen is if only one squad is active, as it's locking onto the next squad...but there's only one, so it locks onto that.

Many things will make a squad not normally selectable for orders. Being off-duty is not one of them, but being on break is, if I recall correctly.

Neither whole, nor broken. Interpreting this post is left as an exercise for the reader.
