 Best of luck to you man. I really don't know how much thought you have put into this 'nor how much soul-seeking you have done in the moral issues you will likely have to face, so chiding you on achieving a specific outcome based on information I don't know is just odd and not terribly useful. But I will stress how important it is so that the stereotypes of a military man being a ruthless bloodlusting viking out to eat the organs of children won't have a basis.

 Also, be sure to bring some metal along wherever you can so you can come up with a suitably poetic verse on how hellish war is. War is hell does likely represent the situation depending on what war, your occupation in it and what version of hell you subscribe to, but something a bit more metal would be appreciated.

Joining the military is one option I'm thinking of when I finish high-school, however unlike you I am planning on going into the army through the ADFA (Australian Defence Force Academy) - officer training. Grunt work is not my thing to be perfectly honest (nothing wrong with it).

However potential things that will hinder me:
1. Eyesight
2. Flat Feet
3. Fitness (still got a few years to work on this)

I don't think too much of being in the army will be all that dramatic or exciting.  Most of it will just be really hard work.

Yeah I've read and heard this, but I have shoes and you can get boots that make it pretty much a non-issue. Will have to look into it more.
