Battle progresses. Cheddarius continues bullying Soldier #1 and Ewart is spectacularly decapitated by the guy he could've knocked out and captured.

Meh. Would have died from bleeding anyway.

We kept hitting his armor. It was crazy! Like we couldn't hit a non-armored part even though he only had like 3-4 pieces.

EDIT: Also, I wouldn't have captured him even if I still would've gotten EXP. Them's emergency rations.

No, you wouldn't have. As I posted, you knocked him out. Or would've if you hadn't tried to run. You could've pretty much ended the fight right then and there, allowing you to heal with no distractions. And you would've gotten a captive.

The outcome of the decision doesn't matter, it's the probabilities.

Actually it's more like:

"This guy would've won the lottery if he had bought the next ticket when God came down and told him he would probably win, therefore, always buy lottery tickets when God tells you to." and "This guy ate a sandwich someone told him might have been tampered with and died from anthrax in it, therefore never eat sandwiches someone tells you might have been tampered with."

No, you just said it would alter the outcome of the battle significantly. Which is a neutral hint, one way or the other. Besides, I ignored your hint and did what I thought Ewart should have done. And he died, which is fine. We had 4v1, though underequipped, but the RNG favored the enemy.

Altogether too bad, but at least you guys get a fresh uninjured player and all my loot!

The cursing would be cool, but the whole "not having a head" thing kinds of ruins your plans.

EDIT: I think this game is a little unbalanced. I mean, our very first fight against two standard foes, and they decapitate one of us and are in the process of killing another, who's dealing maybe 1 or 2 damage per turn while bleeding out. Our very first battle, and the guy who tries to save himself is instakilled, and the only guy who's not on the verge of death is literally punching the enemy with wooden gloves.

Battle drags out like a dying horse. Also, this battle has been great for fleshing out the system.

I'll grab the iron spear and the plate, and equip them if there are no other enemies.

Also while my punching was awesome, I did say I wanted to draw my wooden halberd which was neglected. I'm not going to complain since I came out unscatched and kicked some serious butt.

Umm, I try to examine Gray without touching him to see if I can help him in any way.
