Not sure if this belongs in this thread, but it seems the most likely place. Anyways...

In the anime a man wakes up from a cryo chamber into a strange future. Nature is fighting back, and bugs are now huge and quite deadly. From the first moment he wakes up he is dragged out of the building to safety, and to her mech which she uses to fight the giant bug things.

I also remember that the guy was originally frozen because he had some sort of a disease that couldn't be cured at the time or something of that nature.

The girl who rescued him is hardcore and has almost zero emotions. After spending some time with him however she starts caring about others around her, and won't leave an injured man behind during a simulation. Her superiors try to drill this out of her by making the simulation "kill her"

Also the island that was humanities last bastion (i think) is attacked by the bugs. The bugs were thought not to be able to attack since the ocean stopped them, but it turns out a large underwater pipe allowed them to cross to the island and attack from below.

I know it is all snippets of memory but this has been bothering me for awhile and I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what anime it was. I think it showed on adult swim about 7-8 years ago(I think I said).

Here's one for you.

All I saw was about thirty seconds of it, and this was years ago, I'd say at least four or five years ago.

There's a convoy driving along a forested (Possibly jungle) world and it's ambushed or something.  I vaguely remember a guy with white hair.  Someone jumps on the roof of a jeep and they throw a net over him which turns him into a skeleton.  There's some guy with goggles that have a swirly pattern, I assume he's a scientist.  At this point my dad turns off the TV.  The style was in that grittier, (marginally) more realistic style some older (I assume older, I'm not an anime person) Japanimated cartoonyshows had.

Like I said, I'm not an anime kind of guy, and I won't actually watch the show if I find out what it is, it's just one of those questions that's nagged me for years.  If someone can answer this one, I believe there will only be one more, and I don't expect it to ever be answered, because I don't remember enough to give a good description.

One more of these questions, that is.

To Cthulhu. A guy with swirly goggles? Sounds like an anime that can be action packed at times while also having comedic relief through the villian.

I'm not to sure which anime it would be. Any clue what station or network you were watching at the time?

If I'm right, then the show you're talking about is Sailor Moon. Not unlikely since it was shown with some frequency in the United States years ago.

No, the art-style was a lot grittier than that, and the guy was older.  The glasses were goggles, not glasses, also.

I saw a movie, or it may have been a series, of anime over a decade ago my brother used to have on video... rather than making a whole new thread, going to add to this one.

It was called "Devil Man" or something, where a guy becomes a devil and fights other devils?
I remember a giant devil-turtle who absorbs people's souls, I think, and adds their face to it's shell. I think, something along those lines.
I was <10 when I first saw this and loved it, I'm dying to own it on DVD.

It was an 18+ and very gory.

Post apocalyptic by timeline. Follows a female character. World overrun with fungus after it's been horribly polluted. Fungus spores are a serious hazard. Main character discovers the fungus is actually harmless on it's own and is slowly detoxifying the planet. Flying airships, one crashes near the main character's isolated town. Can't remember much past that.
