Sorry guys, I didn't realize this was still getting any action.


You head upstairs, one double flight of stairs to get to the first level and a second double flight to get to the surface. The sandstorm has passed, and the sky is enormously clear and blue. The sun bakes down on you. Looking around, it seems like you're at the top of a pyramid, with steps leading down to the sand. At the top there are three huge stone statues.

One is of a cherubic male with a leaf-wand.

Another is a tall, lithe woman wearing battle gear: armor, helm, shield, and spear.

The third is a stocky man with a thick, curly, short beard wearing robes. He carries a set of weighing scales.

You take a drink and realize your canteen is empty. Man, but this heat sure puts a thirst in ya!

You head back downstairs into the cool depths of the pyramid. Down to the Big Pile of Loot and the turtle fountain, where you fill your canteen and take another drink.

You wander back to the central room with the shattered altar and rubble lying around, then north to the metal cylinder in the wall. A raised relief of a soldier presses out of the cylinder. Beside it is a hole in the wall. You peer into it, and it goes in pretty far. It's about two inches across and well-hidden. You only noticed it when you had the better light from the torch or lamp.

You take some snake-skin you already had lying around from before, clean it up, and stretch it out into a sort of hat shape. You settle it down over your Underwear Hat, snug as a bug. You feel like you could hang upside-down from a mine cart and it wouldn't fall off! But you have to take off your helmet to wear it.

How much water can snakeskin absorb?  If we could kill another snake, gut it, chop off the head and the end of its tail, we could slit it lengthwise and wrap it around our hand like a bandage.  If enough fat/blood stays on the inside of the snakeskin, it might soothe our hand because blood contains water.
