I think it has to directly do with party size, but I might be wrong.

Yeah, the larger your party size the more prisoners you can hold.

And screw them for getting rid of horse archery. Just why?

Brytenwalda is an interesting concept, but I just can't seem to get into it... partly because I don't know enough about the local time period and culture to really relate my experience to the content (whereas Native MNBW is a pretty general and varied post-Roman feudal setting), and partly because I like names I can pronounce.

Also, I find it difficult to immerse myself in such a... liberal... rendition of the dark ages. :P

Well, from a realism point of view, horse archery isn't effective with bows existing in dark ages britain, and probably more important it never happened. I'm pretty sure that's the reasoning, but I think such attempts at realism really ought to be more internally consistent.

Horseback throwing is still completely viable and is far more accurate to the time period. The biggest restraint with it however is the ammo size in Brytenwalda. You'll be forced to use a couple stacks of darts and javelins really limiting your choice of other weapons.
There's also nothing stopping you from building a ranged character who mounts a horse to get to a good position. I had a longbow character who used to ride around the enemy shield wall, dismount, and pick off enemies outside of their throwing range. This does make managing army tactics harder but I doubt you'll be doing that with a horse archer build anyway.

I've personally used horseback throwing a few times in various modules just because it's a nice change from the norm and it feels rather unique. In the stock game horseback throwing allows you to dish out a lot of punishment and focus on high value targets such as other horsemen or lords. A headshot with a throwing axe will take almost anything down. It's not really made for sustained offensive capabilities like horse archery due to low ammo sizes, but it can be a nice complement to your standard lancer build.

This was brought to my attention yesterday

I'm not really into Star Wars and stuff, but what they've done is pretty impressive and looks like it could be fun. =p

Except for the terrible maps/levels (yay Mount and Blade), it looks exactly how I pictured a Star Wars game should look. That bit at the beginning where the entire sky was filled with blaster bolts was pretty epic. Has it been released yet?

How do you get other lords to join you? I talk to people who for some reason devoted to me, and offer them all sorts of reasons, but none of them join. I have good persuasion too.

I probably should have linked that... the link in the video doesn't go to the right place.

It can be very hard to get lords to join you.
Try to find lords who don't like their king. Be extremely powerful, most lords don't feel "safe" unless you have a couple castles under you belt. Try to find lords of all the same personality and promise them the same thing, you'll get a malus if you start making a whole bunch of different promises. Marry into their family. If they were denied fiefs by their king try to capture and offer those to them. Humiliate the rival kings whenever possible.

Alternatively you can just land all the noble companions rather than trying to recruit other faction's lords. I like doing this since I can play dress up with them and give my realm my own theme.

Marry into their family.

This is your best option, especially if doesn't strategically; try to marry in to a family with plenty of relatives, as that will increase your number of potential alliances, and because the apple (usually) doesn't fall far from the tree, in terms of temperament.

By and by, if you use the Diplomacy mod (and why wouldn't you if you're playing vanilla MNBW?) you also have the option to join a fellow noble's "house," increasing your relation with he and his kin and bettering your chances of gaining permission to court their ladies.  8)

As for myself, I recently woke up and discovered what a scintillating gem of wealth beyond measure is the Prophesy of Pendor. It may not integrate Diplomacy or Freelancer, but such is a small price to pay for all the content and atmosphere, not to mention a truly challenging experience. :P

I noticed that Pendor 3.6 was released a few days ago
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,119.0.html
Quote
PoP 3.6 changes (not save game compatible with previous versions):
- Player Knighthood Order
- Player king mercenary parties from different factions
- The Melitine Empire: a new minor faction
- New unique spawns from foreign factions (Mettenheim, Veccavia, Barclay, Melitine)
- Order ranks and stronghold
- New Order quests (tournament, challenge, rivalry, GM quest)
- Randomly generated minor knighthood Orders; sometimes created by lords
- Numerous new Order, Noldor and other map dialogs
- Prettier female faces (corprus OSP)
- Large minor faction spawns sometimes siege and sack nearby towns.
- Order war parties of the main kingdom Orders sometimes spawn and actively assist their kingdom
- Kings sometimes found Orders if they don't have a chapterhouse yet
- Recruiting Order Sergeants similar to recruiting Order Knights
- Liege lord troops culture switchable to the player's kingdom culture through a dialog.
- Can give troops to your kingdom or your village militias (if they have <100 troops)
- Traveler NPCs in taverns give locations of the two booksellers.
- Sell all prisoners dialog
- Ramun gives locations of random unhired companions if you sell him slaves
- Talk to Guildmaster menu option for towns
- Order and minor factions relations report within the faction relation report
- Ability to rename your party and Order (Camp->Take action)
- Heretics and Snakes drop books that are useful to Orders (membership required)
- Siege defense: inventory chest at defender spawn point (to refill ammo and change gear)
- Camp menu: review and drill your troops
- Renown costs for Order knights increased a lot and depend on relations as well as honor
- Updated Order factions hostility matrix
- No more instaloss with Scorpion Assassin ambushes. Only one or two spawned.
- Valkyries' axes were too short, they got a better weapon.
- Get -2 RTR if attacking during a truce
- Removed horses from D'Shar Bowmen and Dervishes
- Changed Elixirs to give half the stats bonuses from the 4th use onwards
- Order bounty quest quota tweaked down
- Spawn small Noldor patrols more frequently (now in line with other minor factions, every 33 hours)
- Tweaked up the endgame low spawning rates of Mysts and Heretics
- Limited generated Order knights and sergeants in garrisons to about 30 and 50 - there were too many in the end game
- Leth doesn't let you see his equipment until you are level 30
- Get less payment as a kingdom merc, it was too exploitable.
- Nerfed a notch the Fierds party sizes
- Small increase to rare spawn spawning rates (since they get mobbed by kingdoms too often)
- Bugfix: Order sergeants had autocalc values of 0
- Bugfix: (Native bug) Companion missions lasted half the time advertised
- Bugfix: (Native bug) Loaned companions (quest) disappeared if the lender lord disappeared
- Bugfix: The trading villagers (quest) would rarely turn into an ordinary villager party
- Bugfix: (Native bug) Gained 3x3 RTR instead of 3 for peace, and 0 RTR instead of 15 for marriage
- Bugfix: Fixed Notes and other headings positions
- Bugfix: Wolfbode now counts towards Myst supression

So far i'm in the beginning of my new run with it, just joined as a mercenary the Fierdsvain (that were already in difficulty against the D'Shar and Ravenstern from day 1)  so i have not seen yet much , the only noticable change i saw was Alyssa (the ex-priestess of the Snake Cult) that is using one of the new head model (that you can use for character generation if you want)

She seem very odd looking to me like this, maybe i have been too used to her previous face playing Pendor since some years.
