Just played a 100 vs 100 game on mount and musket. Easily one of the best experiences i've ever had. You guys should try it.

Although, it did last like three hours, so you need to have some time set aside.

What? He's firing from the hip.

Does anybody knows how do I hire units from villages in the new game?

Your only source of recruits are merc camps, faction castles when you sign up to a faction and hiring enemy prisoners.

Unless something was ninja-changed in the last patch, of course.  ;)

The army management in Fire & Sword is a lot more in depth. The fact that you can choose what kind of weapons and armor your troops use is a big step up from the last games, where you just promoted them and they would automatically grab new default equipment for their faction.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

Mount and blade have had a mod where you could talk to your soldiers and give them the stuff you'd bought yourself, instead of picking from a tiny list of how you want to dress up your "nationality" mercenaries.

Man, I meant to participate in the line battle but didn't have free time. Is there another today?

I think you have to be part of a regiment for the saturday and sunday battles.

There is a public game next Monday. UK server I think. Last night was US.

I'm getting my sentimentalism back and playing the original Mount And Blade. Ahhhhh, My 50 Swadian Knights still slaughter everything in sight. I even captured the Nord King! Heh.

Yea, nothing like a grand charge of heavy cavalry.  Expensive as all hell with upkeep, though.  My army of 70 knights easily cost more than the entire rest of my kingdom.

My only prob with the original M&B is the speed up feature on the travel map you have in M&B Warband and M&B:WFS.

I believe that FXMP did have the option to convert captured villages to your side; apparently I didn't see the patch. Will check if anything changes, though part of me doubts it.

Holy crap. Playing Eagle and the Radiant Cross, I found a Hand Cannon. Inaccurate as hell and the reload is torture, but I killed eight guys in one shot. It's a shame the splash damage doesn't activate during a castle assault.

Revolver. I can hit 8 people while your reloading. Accurate, insta-kill, and quick reload. Hand Cannons are still fun as hell.

Never underestimate weapon reach, or an army made up of chiefly Laurian(E&tRC) Arquebusiers and Pikemen.

My ~55 guys, plus the ten or so surviving castle defenders against a siege of about 240-250 Russains Vaegirs. The top of the ramp was like two 10-spear weapon traps set on a repeater, and the gunners(including myself) were just shredding everything behind it.

Our casualties: about a dozen between myself and the defenders. Their casualties: all KIA except the two Boyars(Lords) who were captured.
