I'm still amazingly addicted to this 1866 mod, because I can only get Warband to run on my shit laptop about one time out of ten. It's sad, the few times it does run, I'm all like, "ooooo, increased social and political interaction, with new battle commands, larger battlesizes, and better animations!"

Then it hangs. Yes, even when I enter the damn tavern. It works fine when I minimize it to the taskbar, but I'd have to be some kind of blind swordsmaster to win a battle with a minimized Warband.

Have you tried DirectX7 in the video options of the launcher ?
It run much smoother and much more stable than DirectX9, at least for me on the demo of the 1.113 version i am toying around with.

Certainly you lose the DX9 only visual enhancements, but more stability and performance are always something good for a game that offers some large battle size.

Man, I already have all my graphics turned down to "bottom of the barrel", so I may as well try DX7.

If my laptop explodes, we will have words.

Does anyone know if they're making 1866 Western Mod for single-player Warband or only for multiplayer?

DX7 runs well, but the shiny doesn't work. THAT MEANS YOUR ARMOUR WON'T SHINE.

They will be making an SP for Warband, but only after they finish the SP for the original M&B.

Another good mod for the original MB is the Wedding Dance mod.  It's not finished yet but it's actually got a plot, and there are tons of new, far more interesting quests like riding a raft down a river while shooting bandits with a bow or hunting bandits in a hedge maze.  It's also got a completely new map with new sides that are somewhat similar to the old ones but definitely different.  Also working chariots and catapults.  Finally, something that's either an upside or a downside depending how you feel about nudity, it has it.

The mod has a really different style from most.  You really have to try it to understand what it's about.  I figured it was just some porno mod at first but then my friend who doesn't like anything new told me he actually liked it so I decided to give it a try and it really is great.

If it weren't for the fact that this computer I'm on is shared between the family, I'd give Wedding Dance a whirl. Shame, because it does look quite good.

"Compatibility mode", dude. If he tries running it under "capatability mode" some terrible thing involving elder gods will probably happen.

Apparently there's a no-nudity pack on the file repository, you could try that out as well.

Too bad those M&B mods are not natively compatible with M&B Warband, i was browsing the original M&B mods listing, and they had lot more diversity, features and content than any current Warband mods.
And porting some code into a new codebase must be painfully difficult, explaining why nothing has been converted.

I hope with time Warband will attract more modders to at least reach the same kind of awesome content the modding scene M&B managed to create.

Just checked myself. Welp, time to reinstall M&B.
