I've been playing the CRPG mod, it's pretty cool =p

It's multiplayer only. You basically level up and raise your stats similar to singleplayer... buy equipment, etc.

Pendor was ported to Warband today.

What's the big deal with Pendor anyway?
People love it, it's generally considered one of the best mods for original M&B, and now it's finally ported!

Yes, I'm aware of that.  What makes it so much better than say, Sword of Damocles, or 1866, or Star Wars Conquest, or Wedding dance?

Acquired taste I suppose. And it doesn't have plates of metal being held up by the nipples.

So there's absolutely nothing that makes it stand out in any way, it's just great because you say so? ???

It's different, and none of those mods are ported to warband.

I never said anything except that I like it.

I will say it's very elaborate and incredibly difficult and you know there's a bloody feature list right in his link. (Which doesn't even say all the features because they got sick of listing them all.)

Either way it's one of the most well received mods in both Mount & Blade original, and Warband.

Well I asked for anything except that you like it. :-\

Anyway, thanks for giving more detail.  I find that "It's popular" is usually not meaningful, and sometimes ends up being s bad thing,  Because you know, Oblivion was one of the most well received games of the last few years.  And McDonalds....

I do enjoy c-rpg but it can feel a little grindy for the higher level items (like a half decent horse), but that does keep every single player from becoming leet. Squishy peasants make the game a little more enjoyable, but you aren't really effective yourself until you invest a lot of time.

What I would like to see is a mod that gives bonuses to troops for keeping in formations, such as shield walls and pike lines for stopping cav, to give the players a little more impetus to act realistically.

Pnx

You mean receiving denars for sticking with your teammates, making rambo players less useful, perhaps?

Yeah doesn't that mod actually give you money and exp any time a nearby team mate kills someone under the assumption that you're helping them?  If nothing else you're providing an extra target.
