Virex: So they can manipulate objects physically by telekinesis but only a very tiny amount of force and only a few centimeters of reach? (may I sugest that this is also limited to iron and a few other materials, and only can pull objects towards the crystal?) How, then, do they percive the enviroment, how do they tranfer large amounts of data like images and sounds from sensors and how is it interfaced with them?

Another thing, I'm prety sure ordinary mechanical springs can't store as much energy as these apperantly do, do they have some special material that is just extreamly good for springs or is there some other trick going on?

Feedback is mainly through reverse telekinesis, so if pressure or sound is applied to the apropriate sensor, it causes a force the Baklenite can register. Seeing works in a similar fasion, by using a set of lenses that project the image upon a multitude of tiny piezo-fotonic cristals naturaly present on the surface or inside the baklenite, which in turn result in a registrable force.

As for the springs, the Baklenites use special alloys that can store large amounts of force if compressed properly, mainly because of the fact that they deform nearly completely reversably (it bounces back into shape if you hit a sheet of it with a hamer). It's not usefull for armour or mechaniss because it lacks the required stiffnes, but it makes for great springs and other forms of energy storage (ooc: It's an advanced form of handwaving needed for the Baklen to get anywhere at all without carrying a bulky heat engine all the time)

Heh, that's almost exactly like my first idea/what I hoped you'd say! I guess great minds think alike! :D

That also makes the last piece fall in place for a game idea that have been floating around in my head for a few years and wont get made ever. The beanite is perfect for it. (basically; think hyper realistic physics steampunk sandbox, were you build realistic (as in, would work idf you built them in real life) mechanical stuff and... this is getting of topic, never mind, unless someone is actually interested enough to do something (not necessary the actual game) with the idea. )

Anyway, I have some great ideas for their design... Sadly, this margin is to narrow to contain them, and they would be much better conveyed graphically than by words anyway.

Gaiane randomly selects a location, then creates a nice big river delta with a fertile flood plain. Those seem to work pretty well.

Erm, at what point did it seem like a good idea to completely mess the colours of the map over?

Also, I just noted we've got 2 players with the same colour (one of which happens to be me  :-\). Luckely the sings are quite dissimilar.

and two reds

One red is an adventurer.

And if that's still a problem, I claimed red first.

Well, two people chose red, two chose teal, and two chose orange.

Also editing in JJ's adventurer.

Well, we're supposed to stick to our sings no? Then I fail to see the problem.

Before any battles start up I figured we should agree on some way to fight without having to have Istrian roll dice.

I figure we should go with the technique of a previous game where those who are involved in the battle tell how their troops will fight then pm it to a 3rd party player who isn't involved in the battle and they tell how the battle ends up. Of course this all falls apart if everyone doesn't up hold the trust but I doubt any of those here would break that.

Agreement, ideas, flaws,etc?
