Cofferdams

With the recent incident of invisible aquifers on the rise I'd like to submit that cofferdams be considered for constructions. Basically, you build a wood wall from above, allowing you to wall off an area in water, then pump the water out.

This is functionally identical to the cassion idea, but would be limited to wood or bars and temporary (somehow). The idea would be that you could pump the water out of the area then build a more permanent wall inside the cleared area. After you were done you could reclaim the cofferdam material from above. I don't know if there is any historical precedent for digging through aquifers, but this is the way most constructions in water were handled up until the invention of scuba gear.

I would really like to have this. It would make water forts easier to start.
