Muahaha, I now have a combo that all but guarantees a victory if it is not countered.

Is there anything that can be done with cards over the four limit other then trading? Maybe a 1-3-5 point trade-in for commons, uncommons, and rares?

That would make commons far too valuable. You could trade in the cards from a booster for more than it's cost.

On a related note, I would like two boosters. One green, one mixed.

Hey I am just wondering if Time Vault is banned? Having Synod Artificer and Time Vault seems a bit overpowered...

I propose that we each have decks without "instant win" conditions, such as Time Vault + Synod Artificer, and only use them if both players agree to it.

I would propose a grading scale for deck strength to give newer players a chance, or for people who want to play with weaker or strange gimmick decks, but I really wouldn't know where to begin with that.

It's hard impossible to judge decks on an absolute scale like that. Just use the Legacy banlist for the tourney (or better yet, Extended) and everything will go nicely. Of course, in random duels, you can use whatever format you like as long as you both agree to it. That includes stuff like Highlander or no banlist or whatever dumb shit you guys want to play.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

I actually think I might have a idea for that, simply gain a point for 3+ card combos and 2 points for 2 card combos. The deck would then be rated on how many combos it can pull of that can pretty much win the game.

Of course that's probably not the best way to rate it but you guys probably can use that idea as a baseline.

I think just using the banlists is fine. These are pretty much all friendly games. If you play with an ULTIMATE INSTANT WIN deck, you just will quickly run out of willing opponents.

I've been playing magic with some of the guyss around here, like I said before. They got alittle mad at me today because I was taking too long with my turn.

My deck might need some tinkering, since there's alot of things which require upkeep, tapping and untapping, placing counters, drawing cards, and moving around enchantments and equipments, and they all need to be done during my turn so it takes alittle while. Apparently that's no excuse though.

I'm not the fastest player either, have to re-read every card.

Let them complain, it's supposed to be a fun game...

I promise to never complain about speed, as I have that same problem myself.

As long as you're doing something, they really can't complain about speed. Just try and do the stuff pretty quickly, especially if you're doing the same things every turn. Go through it really fast. For example, I might say "End of turn, ping you, token, draw, discard a Forest, tap your Leveler. On my turn, attack with Bears and 'saps'. You take 7." Everybody knows that I really mean is, at the end of my opponent's turn, I'm using my Prodigal Pyromancer to deal 1 damage to my opponent, making a 1/1 saproling with Selesnya Guildmage, using my Kor Looter to draw a card and discard a Forest for its ability, and using my Master Decoy to tap my opponent's Leveler. On my turn, I'm attacking my opponent with my Grizzly Runeclaw Bears and all my saproling tokens. Since my opponent has no blockers, unless he plays something, he must take the seven damage total.

I would kind of like to know each source of damage individually...
