I'll set up Apprentice again eventually. Not sure when, exactly.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

If I can get Hamachi to work I will play someone, I think that my deck will just cave, it might help a little if I mix in the sideboard a little, but I still don't see it surviving without a healthy dose of luck, maybe you should grant 5 points to the loser and 15 to the winner, to give people more incentive to play futile matches. What we need is for the people with no points to play each other, get cards, and then dominate...
Oh damnit... I had a system up for that where I'd give 25 per Friday to everyone...

Never-the-less, 5 and 15 sounds like a good idea. I'll replace the old way with that. This kinda means people will need to announce wins as well, but I think I've got a good balanced system now so it won't be as confusing.

I propose a different tournament system, one where everybody fights everybody. It's more fair, and allows us to start without waiting for another person to join.

Explain how you'd go about this. I knew there were ways to do such, but I didn't know how.

A series of 1v1 matches, much like we've been doing.

That's... not exactly helpful...

Sorry, I was annoyed by the forums when I posted that, having lost a more through explanation. I would go about it as such:

During the week of the tournament, they each make contact and play a game like normal. They'll state before the match that it's for the tournament. They then report the outcome.

Whoever gets the most wins gets the grand prize. Ties are settled based on the sum total of the wins of the defeated. Further ties are settled based on the places of the defeated. If they're still unresolved, there's a rematch between the players who are tied.

Example: A, B, C, D, and E are playing.
A beats everyone, winning the grand prize.
B beats C and D.
C beats D and E.
D only beats E.
E only beat B.

B wins second place, because C+D = 3 wins, while D+E = 2 wins.
C wins third place.
E wins fourth, since B won second place.

I know it's the same system they use at real Magic tourneys, but it just seems weird that you can beat the fourth place guy and still get fifth place.

Eh, I'm not complaining so long as it lets me easily run a tournament without requiring a specific amount of players to be fair(enough).

Especially since i have only played against 3 different players, and almost non of the other guys even respond.

Btw. I`m a "bit" excited- Any estimations when we might get some boosters? Hehe. ;)

I'll probably assemble some boosters tomorrow, tonight is a Friday, so I'm a bit busy.

Will card buying be suspended during the tourney, so that people can't change their decks? Or just register the tournament decks. Not that I mind either way, I just see people complaining that they faced a new super-card that wasn't a threat to someone earlier...

I'm trusting that people will not modify their decks during the tournament, if I catch word of such a thing I'll see what I can do about it.
