Im wondering how i go about playing.

So far i downloaded and installed the full apprentice. Then i copied all the worldwake patch files into my apprentice directory.
Now also is there an easier way to get the random deck i was sent into apprentice other than searching for each card in the list and adding it???
Then how do i get playing?  ;D
Your gonna have to assemble the deck manually, as for how to get started playing, use hamachi and connect to the network mentioned in the first post.

You can save the list as a .dec file, but that still takes a lot of time to format it properly.

Hmm...I've never been a big fan of CCGs - I mean, I did and still do collect Pokemon cards, but I never got heavily into the battling and trading thing.

By definition that makes you a fan since you still buy them.

Explain how you'd go about this without opening apprentice and individually adding the cards.

It's just a text file with a list of cards. I think it's one card per line followed by x1, x2, x3, ect. It's nice to throw in comments to create groups, such as //Creatures. Then there's a special tag where everything after that line is the sideboard. Again, I don't actually have Apprentice, so I'm just saying it all from memory. It's real simple, look at the default ones and the ones Apprentice saves.

SHAD0Wdump, it would be a big help if you sent decklists formatted properly to begin with. Then you could just tell people something like:

Copy and paste this list exactly as is into notepad. Save it into Apprentice's "Decks" folder and name it whatever you want, such as "starterdeck.txt". Then, change the extension to .dec, such as "starterdeck.dec". You can then modify the deck inside Apprentice or in Notepad.

Uh yeah... Here's what a .dec file looks like opened in notepad...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Good luck with that... Hell, those aren't even the right icons... Ok they are, they appear different in the browser but they go back to normal in the notepad.

Would i be able to pm you my deck and maybe go about using that ?

I don't think so, if I let anybody use their own decks there wouldn't be much purpose to having random decks and boosters. And if I made an exception to you it would be unfair for the others.

Besides, outside the tournament system you can use whatever you want. You just wont get points for playing with those.

Note to self: Don't assume things look the same in Notepad++ and Notepad.

Well, apprentice seems to work, though I have not tested it on the internet yet.

It seems to be missing one of my cards, oh well...

I can't find a way to put a card on the bottom of the library, I figure I will just have to put it out of play and remember it for the next time the library is shuffled...

Is there a good way to deal with 'draw X cards then put Y of them back in any order'? Or do you just need to draw them and let the opposing player hope you are putting back the same cards that you drew...

What about 'look at the top card of the opposing player's library'? I thought that this did not involve the opposing player looking at the card, as far as I can tell the only way for this to work at the moment would be for the card to be put on the field, and then for the card's owner to do whatever with it, without reading anything...

I'm on Hamachi now, if you want to play a few rounds or play a test round.

It seems to be missing one of my cards, oh well...

Apprentice seems to have a bug preventing "Move to Bottom of Library" from working from the graveyard, although it does work from the "Removed from Game" area.

Is there a good way to deal with 'draw X cards then put Y of them back in any order'? Or do you just need to draw them and let the opposing player hope you are putting back the same cards that you drew...
The best way I've found is:
1-View top cards of library
2-Hold shift while dragging the cards to the table to play them facedown
3-Return them to the library in the desired order

What about 'look at the top card of the opposing player's library'? I thought that this did not involve the opposing player looking at the card, as far as I can tell the only way for this to work at the moment would be for the card to be put on the field, and then for the card's owner to do whatever with it, without reading anything...
