Steam's 1090 is being prepped for shipping now.  Shouldn't be too much longer; thanks for your patience, steam users. :)

Wow. Very nice. The population/structure damage balancing in the previous patch combined with the blockading in this patch have made early game combat a lot more viable. Needless to say, the AI crushed me before I got a fleet together.

Also, loving the UI improvements.

Sweet, can't wait to check it out.

Even though I totally suck at this and don't know what I'm doing, I keep firing it up hoping that I will get better.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

If I hold alt and move over a ship in tutorial, a giant pink&black checkerbox appears. Guessing that is not supposed to happen.

I started up a game after a few months of not playing it. I'm enjoying most of the recent changes. External mounts amuse me. Leaving systems undefended until they're attacked with plans to create a fighter swarm when pirates are sighted is less viable now. My mobile defense jump carriers still enjoy launching their fighters to destroy passing enemy scouts, but I can work around that.

And ...

Woe is me: microcline has replaced my usable ore.

Are there any plans to make microcline more eye-gougingly bright in a future patch?

Bought this today, really quite happy with it. It's what Sins of a Solar Empire would have been had they not gone for the more mainstream appeal. Though in my first game I found out why it's a bad idea to set tech difficulty increase and tech bonus increase very close together in a game with 1000 solar systems. 'Oh gods, the AI just churned out tens of thousands of ships, there goes my fps.'

Sorry to dredge this back up.

Does anyone how to configure the automation processes on an orbiting station to make it a sort of second storage for the planet below?

So I got this on a promotion a few months back, but I can't seem to "get it".

I did the tutorials and all that, but it's really not clear to me when I should expand, when I should invest in what technologies, when I should increase the scale of the ships, how many I should build, the advantages of big vs small ships. THe end result is that I am always last in everything, and promptly get massively destroyed.

Any tips or tutorials I can look into?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm not going to go through 49 pages of topics :\

your expansion rate is something you generally get a feel for.

you should start out with 1 colony in system, let it build up for a bit, until your galactic bank income balances back out then colonize another planet. do it that way till you feel your bank stock is large enough to begin colonizing entire solar systems effectively.

Thanks for the tip! I think I've definitely been over-expanding. And I never know how many ships or what types to put out. I just started a game on trivial, and I wasn't immediately destroyed by the AI, but the pirates came in and utterly wiped me out ;)
